Blending organic sounds and traditional instruments with electronic textures and trippy synth lines, this eclectic release spans from downtempo electronica to atmospheric deep house with a melodic groove.

Each year Sabo collects the finest tracks he can find from across the world and releases them on the day of the summer solstice, which is the year’s longest day of sunlight.

With a tight knit family built around the label, Summer Sol is also a welcoming party for many of the artists who are joining the community. Those making their Sol Selectas debut this year includes the likes of DJ Chus, Balam, La Payara, The Scumfrog, KÖNI, and Depart.

It also welcomes back familiar faces such as Dandara, Amine K, Giovanny Aparacio, Mula, Amentia, Chambord and Sabo himself as the party host.

Under the sun's rays we are all equal, regardless of skin colour, gender or sexuality, and this release is a celebration of the music that overcomes diversity to bring people together.

Each of the tracks have their own story and is a little ray of sunshine to warm the mind, body and soul. This year’s release features tracks with roots in Mexico, USA, Spain, Mali, Turkey, Colombia, France, Argentina, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Ukraine, Chile, Netherlands, UAE, Switzerland, Belgium, Hungary, Armenia, and Australia.

Separately each of the artists on this EP has featured on other labels such as Get Physical, Bar 25 Music, Akbal Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Pipe & Pochet, Magician On Duty, A Tribe Called Kotori, 3000 Grad Records and many others of equal note.

The music drifts from coast to coast, across several mountain ranges, deserts dunes, and salty oceans, spanning years of generational influences. The tempos, melodies, and rhythmic combinations take us from chill out, to groove, tribal, afro, and to deep. We hope this music inspires, and carries you on a worldwide tour.

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to a parallel dimension lit by the frequencies and energy of the SOL.

Berlin’s rising talent Sunlast debuts on MUKKE with his newest single “What If I Go” Berlin based DJ and Producer Sunlast fell in love with electronic music in the early 2010s. As the years went by his passion for music kept growing and in 2018 Sunlast began to DJ. A year later he started teaching himself music production through Youtube videos. Nowadays the motivation behind his productions remains the same as when he started, making music that people enjoy and create memories to, the same way he has done with his favorite music. “What If I Go” is a blend of Melodic and Afro House. The main element and foundation of the track is the piano, which with the chord progression and its variations throughout the song keeps the track constantly evolving. Apart from the piano another element that is present throughout the entire production is an arp that, only playing one note, functions as a rhythmic element. Lastly, towards the second drop the focus of the track shifts from the piano to a catchy vocal sample that is guaranteed to have you singing along! HMWL Premiere: Sunlast - What If I Go [Melodic House / Katermukke]

The next release, scheduled for June 5th, 2024, is a compilation of remixes of 'Soso,' an original song by Omah Lay, reimagined by The Kabusa Oriental Choir from Nigeria. This song encapsulates Omah Lay's feelings of abandonment and his intense longing for connection and relief from emotional pain.

Five remixes have been curated for the summer, taking listeners on a journey from South Africa with a deep house remix by Goldfish, to Ecuador with a progressive house remix by Diego Narvaez. 

In between, DJ Raff from Chile, Edkub, Titoffee, and Aston Alba from Switzerland each bring their unique touch, resulting in a beautiful package of emotions suitable for both day and night, for moments of happiness or melancholy.

This forthcoming EP has been crafted for everyone who needs to find healing in their own pain and transform it into a smile under the warm summer sun.

' 'Namibia' came into being after I watched a few clips about this country. I was deeply moved by the story of the Himba African tribe from Namibia. For us 'civilized' people, it would be difficult to live like that. I was impressed by how the tribe members sustain themselves solely on goat milk, goat milk yogurt, and polenta... all day long! Fascinating. The people there are a real example for all of us, those who have become embittered and alienated from ourselves in the first place. There is my specific dose of melancholy precisely for this reason: We should be more united and more loving towards one another!

For the latest release on his consistently impressive Mate Records imprint, Madrid stalwart Rafa Santos has turned to Parisian twosome Groove Boys Project. Their take on house tends towards the nostalgic and musically expansive, and the four tracks assembled here fit that description. They begin by joining the dots between Kerri Chandler style garage-house and dreamier European deep house on 'Keep On Dreamin' (Club Mix)', before expertly fusing elements of new age house, Italo-house and solo-laden US deep house on 'Sunrise (Underwater Mix)'. Over on the flip, 'The Jazz Palace (Long Ride Mix)' is a vibraphone-solo laden chunk of rolling deep house warmth and Rawai hook-up 'Djoon Trax (937 Classsic Mix)' sees the duo add delicious jazz guitar solos to a sun-soaked deep house groove rich in rubbery synth-bass.
