'Lost On You welcome Alex Cecil with his new 'Microdreaming', a stripped-back gem that won't disappoint.

'Microdreaming' starts off nicely, with its uplifting mood-lifting you from the first beat through beats and harmonies that will transport you back to those party days when the party is in full swing. The track twists effortlessly, while the vocals sit superbly on top adding an extra layer of groove.

'Oneironaut' is a furious and piercing weapon, mixing dancefloor functionalism with raw and distorted sounds. The resulting cut is a slice of electronica fuelled by a few techno tweaks, with as many faces as a Rubik's cube, as well as bass cuts, distorted chops with muffled effects, and vocals that keep things interesting throughout.

The EP is a highly accomplished piece of work that proves Alex Cecil is a true master of his craft. With two unique tracks, "Microdreaming" sends a clear message of emphatically sustained musical relevance to warm the soul that should not be missed.'

A mainstay in the New York and Miami underground scene, Alex Cecil is esteemed for his ability to meld a myriad of diverse, musical strands into incredibly unique sets notable for heavy bass lines and dark but uplifting melodies. Fresh from rapturously received releases on Lost On You (a Beatport Indie Dance #1) and RVDIOACTIVE, Cecil jumps on remix duties for ‘Drifting Away’. Bringing his trademark style to this flip, the track is insistent, melodic and constantly evolving. Underpinning it all is a warm but driving rhythm section that has been precision engineered for the dance floor.  
 
Discussing his vision for the remix, Cecil explains: “When I first heard the original track I was immediately taken by the combination of the thick bass line, lofty vocals and the gritty driving vibe. When I hear something that connects with me, I immediately paint a picture in my mind of exactly what I’d like to do. It’s the same during a proper b2b set. They’ll play a track and the track I end up playing next will pop in my head. I get so excited when that happens it’s hard to keep it together.
 
That’s what happened with “Drifting Away”. A great track like this - you can take it down so many different paths. I only wanted to go down one path though. Take it slow but keep the power - that low key high energy. I’m very excited to share my vision with you.”

Recently featured in DJ Mag for his remix of Miss Nine’s “Drifting Away”, Cecil performs every year at Burning Man including the notorious sound camp DISTRIKT among others. His prowess with the cello —an instrument he’s played since age 7 — gives him his unique take on performance, composition and transition. Cecil’s debut techno single
“Alpha Lupi” on Staybad charted at #1 and he quickly followed up on this success with multiple top 10 releases on labels such as
925 Music, Lost On You, Rvdiovctive, Deep Playa and Parallel.
