Ian Hawgood and James Murray began Slow Reels in 2018 from studios in London and Warsaw. The early work involved exchanging heavily modulated long-form textures, recorded on a variety of instruments, notably vintage synths. Reiterative digital manipulations and successive destructive passes through an end-of-life reel-to-reel tape setup resulted in a collection of entirely unrepeatable drone suites.

Their debut Farewell Islands for Morr Music was met with widespread critical acclaim. Sustain, presented now by Fluid Audio, extends the force of this uncompromising aesthetic further, as the artists’ shared medium further degenerates into overwhelming, full-frequency emotion.

there was a time when Minecraft on creative mode was literally the most sacred place to be and “The Untold Saga” immediately transfers me to that profound memory.

i’m writing this note listening to “Saga” on my Apple Computer and the feeling of overwhelming, excitement is just so explicit.
with digital, almost angelic, Miyazaki Philharmonia Apu is inviting us into their layered, silky smooth, yet crunchy and granular world where everything is changing with each gesture. pure, flowing orchestra is so vibrant i can almost touch it. immersive sound design can be so bright i can almost see it.

i’m addicted to fidget toys and this EP happened to kinda be another one of mine. it’s Ghibli-like, full-of-surprises narrative without compromises refers to bubblegum club music, as well as enters into deeply personal soundtrack areas.

oh and btw can you imagine it's a debut EP?

Röyksopp (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈrøyksɔp]) are a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø, formed in 1998. Since their inception, the band has consisted of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. Röyksopp is the Norwegian word for puffball.

Berge and Brundtland were introduced to each other through a mutual friend in Tromsø, Norway. They enjoyed the same films and music, and shared an interest in electronics. The two experimented with various forms of electronic music, and bought a drum machine together during the Tromsø techno scene before going their separate ways. Several years later, the two met up again and formed Röyksopp during the Bergen Wave. After experimenting with different genres of electronic music, the band solidified their place in the electronica scene with their 2001 debut album, Melody A.M., released on the Wall of Sound record label.

Röyksopp has consistently experimented with various genres pertaining to electronic music. Stylistically, the band makes use of various genres, including ambient, house music and synthpop. The band is also known for its elaborate concert performances, which often feature eccentric outfits.

Since their 1998 debut, the duo has gained critical acclaim and popular success around the world. To date, Röyksopp has been nominated for one Grammy Award, won seven Spellemannprisen awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums which have topped the charts in several countries, including four consecutive number-one albums in their native Norway.
