DJ Boursin where are you ? we need you more around here !

On 13th November 2021, we landed and returned home once more: back in our rightful place of Dare To nightclub. Picture the scene (once more):

Super-sub DJ Boursin had stepped in last minute for COVID-fallen DJ Mooncup, pulsing his heavy as a house super subs through the main room, leaving no unaddressed club-cum-capitalist trauma untouched. Elena Colombi then slipped right on in, warping the UV paint on the walls to a new shade of weird. Her signature idiosyncratic chug, tampered with a charming yet chilling darkness, that on a slow and steady boil, tickled the room, tendon to toes. Then, N-R-G-FLASH, Oceanic rises from the waters...

Liquid fire licking and scolding; rigid and shifting steel structures. Pure BODY music. Bumping hard all the way through from hip to skull. The eclecticism of styles are held tight in a vice of lean and mean method and movement, slowly shifting shades in the blur of frenetic fray. 

Here is the sound of an artist who knows just when to lean into the lean grids of lights and when it's time to let go, lean back and let the music do the screaming. Also, that wiiiiiild midset tempo shifter? It's beauty in the madness and I'm so so damn happy he came through so hard.

He may be Dutch, but Oceanic's understanding of broken poly-riddims makes you wonder if he was born under the (continu-)Nuum-shaded moon. Damn, he even stressed how un-UK my "tech-house with colours of other" closing set was. And yeh coming from a performance like his, I had to take it tbh. Especially when he opened with a special dub comprised of voicenote I'd sent him. Big fucking lols. We love to see it.
