Richard A Robinson IV is a Washington, DC born rap artist known as well W3alth, now based in
Houston, TX. He describes his music as being inspired by his life and day to day learning and
teaching while not boxing himself into anyone style or genre.
W3alth started writing poetry and rhymes while he was still in elementary school. His mother
remembers him rhyming frequently for various school activities. He began sharing the stage with
his uncle, vetaran indie rapper and producer, Substantial, before entering middle school.
In 2009, W3alth made his music debut on Substantial & Burns’ song Nobody Cares at the age
of 15. After 10 years of independently releasing singles and mixtapes, W3alth is rebranding
himself and ready to release his debut EP Bridges, produced entirely by Substantial. The title
Bridges was inspired by their observation of the ongoing disconnect between the young and
older generation of Hip-Hop artists. Sub states “Our goal is to find common ground musically,
bringing together the best of both worlds. Youthful swag with a golden era feel.” W3alth explains
“I’ve done tracks with my Uncle before but not like this. THIS IS DEEP! Definitely some next
level hip hop. We are really bridging the gap. I'm proud of this EP and anxious for more to
come.”
