Time for a little neck bulging, slimy skin hip-slinking summer fun as a true craftsman steps from the studio shadows: Jay Shepheard, who’s back with a track that’s so infectious if you licked its back you’d trip for weeks.
Prepare yourselves for ‘Bullfrogging’: wry funk, warmth and humanised technoid soul. Taking a vocal texture then processing, harmonising and splicing the spawn out of it, Jay’s precision balance of electronic hustle and anthromorphised action has all the hallmarks for a summer anthem.
‘Early Doors’ follows suit and there’s a massive clue in the title… Soft-focused, warm, rolling and laced with textured chimes, it’s definitely tailored for those key transitions between warm-up and second gear. Deep, trippy but coded with a hookiness that grabs rather than soothes, once again it’s classic Shepheard but with a revitalised 2017 twist. Hey, he didn’t lock himself away in the studio for twelve months for nothing, right?
Neither did Jay’s long-time friend and neighbour Mark Henning; a man who hasn’t taken on a remix since the early 2010s. His return to the remix game is as poignant and powerful as Jay’s return to releases as he removes around 70 percent of the frog and maximises the bullishness of the elements, creating a relentless tribal slammer of a version that still retains the warmth and soul of Jay’s original.
Two returns to action, three killer tracks, one label you can always count on as your friend and no frogs harmed during the whole process. We’re pulling out some serious stops here.

Kevin Over was born in the heart of the Ruhr Area (Germany) in 1991. The young prodigy first jumped on the turntables at the age of 14 and has spent the next decade honing his craft as a producer and DJ. At just 25, Kevin Over is already established as a go-to producer for ready-made house and techno winners. Detroit legend Stacey Pullen licensed his stunning ‘2002’ for his well- received Balance 028 compilation, while Etienne de Crecy, Waze & Odyssey, Noir, Andhim and Pirupa have all included his music in their Essential Mixes. Laurent Garnier, Maya Jane Coles, Adam Beyer, Stacey Pullen and Kerri Chandler are just a small selection of the world-leading tastemakers who champion his tunes.

Greco (NYC) delivers yet another raw house masterpiece with South Jamaica, which drops on SOUP NYC alongside a seriously dope remix from Mad Villains. 

NYC based DJ and Producer Greco (NYC) has quickly earned his place within today's thriving dance music scene. Initially learning his craft at Dubspot, he developed a remarkable raw house sound granting him his first record deal with legendary New York label Nurvous Records in 2014. Since then he has gone on to release on a string of A-list labels including MadTech, Toolroom, KMS and most recently Strictly Rhythm. 

His latest comes on US label and party outfit SOUP NYC: a fitting home for an artist with such close musical ties with the city. 

South Jamaica is a raw house cut typical of the style Greco has become know for, with shuffling percussion and chopped vocals perfectly complimenting the star of the show: a heady synth lead that evokes the work of the early US house pioneers.  On the remix, the UK’s Mad Villains caps an exceptional year with an engrossing, bass heavy version, complete with lush pads and stomping bass.

French native Sébastien Léger has found perhaps the most appropriate home for his new two-track EP called 'Lost Miracle'. Releasing soon on Lee Burridge's melodic haven known as All Day I Dream, Léger explores the spectrum of meandering and billowing house on his B-side 'Dida', which dually also serves as a perfect example of the kind of relaxed soundtrack that Burridge adores. The 'Lost Miracle' EP is out on January 19.

It’s a hometown celebration for this pairing of Montreal natives. DJ, songwriter and engineer Clarian hands over his retro-tinted ‘Under The Gun’ to two talented remixers: Michael Mayer and Tiga. We’ve nabbed the latter from the Turbo boss, who highlights the tracks’ lo-fi potential and finds a patient beauty in longer, drawn out synths. The 'Under The Gun' remixes from Tiga and Michael Mayer are out on January 26 and Clarian's debut LP 'Television Days' is out on February 23, both via Australia's Balance Music.

Chambray is the alias of André Rost who has gone on to deliver some massive dancefloor heaters full of punchy house tracks such as "Anew" and "Rub". The Berlin based producer signed to Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic imprint back in 2014 & since 2017 he's releasing tracks independently on record-labels like Dirtybird, Unknown To The Unknown, W&O Street Tracks, &Friends and so on. As an artist and producer Chambray experimenting a lot with new sounds, song structures and workflows to develop himself. Strongly influenced by techno and ghetto house, accompanies by african rhythms, his unique dealing with staccato stabs and special placing of ad-libs makes his sound distinctive. He remixed artists like Boys Noize, Amtrac, Panteros666 (just to name a few) and collaborated with Laurent Garnier, Truncate, DJ Haus, VONDA7 & Kill Frenzy. His most memorable day in his career as musician was when he got back in 2016 a personal invitation from Richie Hawtin to perform due to his PLAYdifferently mixer launch at Boiler Room Berlin.
