Voyager 1 is a NASA space probe launched in 1977 to explore the outer planets and is now the farthest human-made object from Earth. After completing flybys of Jupiter and Saturn, it continued its journey beyond the solar system, officially entering interstellar space in 2012. 

Powered by a slowly fading radioisotope thermoelectric generator, it still transmits data but will eventually go silent. However, even after it stops communicating, Voyager 1 will continue traveling through interstellar space forever, drifting among the stars of the Milky Way, possibly encountering another star system in millions of years.
