Born Justin Higgins in Compton California in 1987, was the second of two boys. At an early age Justin exhibited an active artistic ability. He began drawing at the age of five and by the age of thirteen began expressing himself through writing poetry. He was entered into a junior writing competition for a magazine by his teacher and took second place out of 100 students. His introduction to the music world would follow shortly after as Justin's stepfather was a DJ and encouraged him to turn his poetry into musical form. He was introduced to hip hop by artists such as Big L, Tupac Shakur, E 40, Suga Free, and many others. Inspired by these artists he stated his entry onto the hip hop scene and in high school he battled inside and out side of school. His intensity and determination soon caught the eye of local rapper, Dice, later known as J. Nolan. Justin and J. Nolan became good friends and Justin's unique performances would soon adopt him the name, Remix. Though, after graduating from high school, Justin and Nolan would go their separate ways, but Justin's love for music would continue to blossom as he continued to perform and perfect his craft. Remix currently resides in southern California.
