Boiler Room Cumbia Edits by MLE

This album is a collection of never before released remixes and mashups created for the 2022 Boiler Room Cumbia Showcase in Houston, TX which featured MLE and other local and global DJs and musicians. The tracks embody Houston's fusion cumbia cultures and the artist's unique perspective in bridging hip hop, New Orleans bounce, cumbia, Caribbean music, and more. The album features a bonus alternative instrumental track as well.

MLE is a DJ/producer, cultural historian and educator from Houston, Texas. She believes in creating intentional community spaces on the dancefloor as sites for collective healing, empowerment, and release. Her sonic profile centers Afro-Caribbean and Afro-diasporic sounds that draw from her Panamanian heritage, upbringing in Texas, and curiosity to explore Black diasporic connections in music.
