The mythic Mike Parker is welcomed to Balans, making his debut on the label with a four-track EP exemplifying his abstract style of eccentric analog resonance.

‘Transgression and Punishment’, characteristic of Parker’s classic fluctuating rhythms he explores soundscapes in experimentalism.
‘Smoke from Burning Fields’ conversely opens with a solid striking bassline making this track highly suitable for a damp and dark dancefloor amongst its hypnotic drive.

On the flipside, ‘The Freezing Process’ dives deep into the unknown where frequencies, submerged underwater, travel through the unfamiliar depths of the deep dark sea. To close out the EP, ‘The Midnight Zone’ is launched into ceaseless high-pitched oscillations, with a marching beat propelling the mind into an unconscious mesmerizing state. 

The perpetually seductive Mike Parker delivers a remarkable performance with this solid four-track addition to the Dutch label Balans Records, continuously known for delivering modern classics.

This is the fourth release on Eye Teeth, the techno sublabel of Interdimensional Transmissions, by IT family members Kit Geary & Israel Vines as KGIV. This is their second record, following their heavy debut on Horizontal Ground. On this record we find them exploring the subtleties of slow change within a techno track with the outstanding heady “Mockingbird” and through the rocker “From Fragments”. The B Side features an unsung hero of American techno - Borrowed Language veteran Jeff Pietro - with the sonic masterpiece of his hypnotic “Mockingbird” remix. 

We started this sublabel as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where IT often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). This is Techno from Detroit and America, not Detroit Techno. We would like to see American Techno evolve, and this new imprint is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena.

This EP was pre-mastered by Neel at Enisslab Studio in Rome. The vinyl was mastered by Carl at Trutone and pressed at Archer Records in Detroit.
