​​Early June 2019 Frankfurt based Label MMODEMM unleashes DRUMS, their second vinyl release after MDM01 (feat. Privacy, Chinaski, Dj Slyngshot, Nick Klein, Umberto) and several different cassette formats such as Machine Woman’s residency tape (conclusion of a series of 3 weeks studioresidencies at Mousonturm Frankfurt) or their "cassingle box“ edition of five 5 minute tapes MDM A - MDM J.

​​DRUMS is the first of a series of compilations following the concept of signature sounds – an hommage to soundlibraries, a deconstruction of your favorite preset soundgroups. It is to be complemented by the later releases BELLS , VOICES and SLAPBASS.

​​DRUMS is featuring a proggy composition by Macadam Mambo´s EVA GEIST, a jacking hi hat inferno with agitating spanish lyrics by CIENFUEGOS, known thru his releases on L.I.E.S., a dancefloor drumsolo straight out of >Ireland by LUMIGRAPH, who was already featured on MMODEMMs MDM E box and should be known from his Opal Tapes and Mr. Saturday Night releases a few years ago. PEDER MANNERFELT delivers a trippy, drunk masterclass drumlesson, taking house apart with his "Dumb Drums".

Peder Mannerfelt - Dumb Drums

@hadji-hajj is a French artist and composer who recently debuted on the @bfdmrec. He is a co-founder of Dawn, member of Schnell Records, which develops the concept of Dadaism in  music, and host of Souffrance FM on LYL Radio, that is built around contemporary musical movements, from trap to post-internet experimentations and futuristic beats. 

For the Tightmix series, Hajj has prepared a story with "different colors and moods," which combines the soundtrack from anime 'Perfect Sadness' by Masahiro Ikumi, eerie screams from 'Crushed' by Ronce, French hip-hop from Freeze Corleone, grime by Big Shot, jungle from Dom Perignon & Djin and dub by Systemwide - all variety of genres that fully reflect the artist's vision of modern music.

Axis Arkestra is a project founded by Artists Melika Ngombe Kolongo and Curtly Thomas in 2020. With an aim to shift the axis of perception; the growing Arkestra  directs a shift in social positioning and the development of hidden information materials. With the meeting of sonic and visual as primary renders Axis Arkestra  uses the tools of Improvisation and play to reveal alternative forms of knowledge production and communication lines with our Ancestral sources. 

This commission is part of 'PICO: Un parlante de África en América', an exhibition by Invernomuto & Jim C. Nedd plus contributions by Axis Arkestra, Don Alirio, Dairo Barriosnuevo, Larisa Kingston Mann a.k.a.
