BSV: Hello Tilo! We met in 2015 in the DJ box of the Grelle Forelle club in Wien while you played the final set on our label night - @affectrecordings. I still remember those dynamic techno rhythms. Driving beats and harmonic melodies… Is that your magic?
oneTWIN: Oh yeah what a night, it was my first event in Vienna. The club was super cool and the guests so great. I feel like it was yesterday. I miss DJ-ing and dancing and people. The happiness in their faces.

BSV: Tell us something about this mixtape. These sunrise vibes are quite different from my first impression of you.
oneTWIN: The world is not just made up of hard and melodic techno. I like this form of music. However, it is not limited. There are so many great repetitive music genres out there. Of course I like it when it’s dark and makes a lot of noise, but I think it's the right set at the right time for every time. When you asked me to play the DJ set it reflected my mood. The sun was outside, it was nice and warm and it felt like spring. What I play depends on the stage and the time. I think it's important not to open your mind. Whoever books me wants to get a certain sound played and that's what they get.

BSV: You shared DJ desk with some big names: @chris-liebing, @djhellofficial, @dubfire, @boris-brejcha, @dave-clarke-dj-sets, @marikarossa, @nicolemoudaber, @rebekah, @sam_paganini, @lenfaki and many many more during these 8 years of your DJ career. Which of these performances has a special place in your heart?
oneTWIN: Lots of big names come and go, some stay. They don't mean anything to me, it's the person behind it. The little nuances are what bring joy. So I watched Chris play for a long time. It is enchanting how he masters this art of technology. Or Cari, when he manipulates the limiter in a club with a Xone 92 so that it gets more out of the sound system. So every contact has their story, some can be shared and I keep the others to myself. The techno scene is a magical world like in a rabbit hole that you can dive into.

BSV: You live near the border with the Netherlands and Belgium. Do you think that that fact influenced your musical taste?
oneTWIN: No, I've moved from one place to another so many times in my life, influences come from all over the world. For example, I started with drum-n-bass and jungle. Then came the legendary Frankfurt era. The beats became slower and more powerful. My friends from the scene, like you, come from all over the world, just like the music I play.

BSV: How does the local electronic music scene differ from the scene in Berlin or Hamburg?
oneTWIN: The Berlin sound is for tourists. There are also some clubs that play amazing music, but you have to look for them. A friend of mine said, in Berlin you only play so that your name is on a poster. There is currently nothing that can bring me there. At the moment it is better to go partying in East Germany. They know how to do it right!

BSV: Is the SYNC word disgusting to you?
oneTWIN: Our job is to make the audience dance. We have an assignment and we should fulfill it. How we do this should be up to us. I have Technics 1210 mk and Pioneer CD players myself, but mostly play digitally. Not because I'm lazy, but it gives me so many more opportunities. For me it means freedom.

BSV: Are you ‘’machine’’ friendly when it comes to DJ-ing?
oneTWIN: I often integrate my NI machine or a Korg drum computer. Effect chains with delays and reverbs are only possible in this way. I almost always play on Allen & Heath myself. I like it when things are not permanently installed and I can route them myself.
