"I Numb" is the latest groovy soca single from the EvaLucian camp. The track was written by Danielle Dubois and Arthur Allain, who brought you "Jumping Alone". Numb was also produced by Arthur and mixed by EvaLucian members Yannick Plante & Gus d'Auvergne and mastered by Yannick Plante. Guitarist Havila King also features on the track with additional backups by Bendora Thomas. "I Numb" is a definitely a tune that many carnival revelers can relate to. Enjoy!

“Tell them start it /start it”. You heard the 2013 Groovy and Power Soca Monarch as well as Road March King of Saint Lucia. “We coming to fete / to make the place shake / we doh give a damn at all / come to make you sweat ” is a promise Ricky T knows he can and will deliver on “De Truth” off the Dutch Productions/Stratosphere Muzic, Black Assassin Riddim for Saint Lucia Carnival 2014. 

This is not just any power soca song. “De Truth” is a retrospective of Ricky T’s career so far spanning his hit songs from “Pressure Boom” (2007) to 2014’s “Mass Attack”. Along the way he has dominated Saint Lucian Carnival streets, fetes and events as well as toured the region and the world including performing at Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Centre in New York. 

While not one to look back, Ricky T nevertheless brings “De Truth” for his fans, giving them a chance to remember and celebrate with him, “we coming / we prepared / we doh fraid / never scared / like lightning / we striking / I’m the Lord of the Ring.” So take this one as a look back but also a promise for the future.

“Don’t Let Go (I Am Soca) by Ricky T starts off slow and builds and builds and builds just like the spirit of bacchanal for which it sings a love song. For all that he has two Groovy Soca Monarch titles, Ricky T is known more for power anthems that drive fetes, concerts and the road. 

But with “Don’t Let Go (I Am Soca)” he proves as he did with “Indian Girl” (2011) and “40 Days 40 Nights (Dingolay)” (2013) that he can slow it down with as devastating an impact as any power number.

Released by Dutch Productions/Stratosphere Muzic for Saint Lucia Carnival 2014, “Don’t Let Go (I Am Soca)” is written by Ricky Joseph ,Saveion "Blue" Georges and Courtney Louis who also produced it with additional keys from Yannick “Fresh Prince” Plante. The song is also blessed with live guitar from Ras Bonte.

“I am the melody in your heart/I am the reason party does start/I am the treble, I am the brass/I am the one who control the mas/I am the one make girl bend down low/I is the one make people run so” – sweet Soca you are so right, describing yourself with such grace by those who love and pay musical homage to you. This heartfelt memory in motion is described lyrically by Akeem “Preedy” Chance and Stephanas “Steffy” Ramgattie of WeMad, as they encapsulate the rarely relived virgin jubilation expressed within this single.

With an unforgettable melodic delivery, the former Groovy Monarch Teddyson John translates all of these glorious emotions into song, one well-sung refrain at a time.

Even as the tastefully saccharine layering of music provided by Team Precision, adds that final level of remembrance, which enables listeners to be carried away in what is sure to be a heavenly festival trance.

With every inhaled breath, palpable tension swarms through the barely restrained bodies of restless masqueraders.

One can feel the energy of multiple island summer festivals throbbing in the air, and the stirring of riotous feet awaiting that particular fuel needed to propel them across the black carpets of the Caribbean.

Precision Productions has listened attentively and using all of these emotions has conjured one rhythmic inoculation that is sure to relieve the entire region.

This cure comes in the declared release of the “Emergency Riddim”.

As the musical alarms sound off, a masterful team of artists is called in and placed on siren duty, each with a specific mission in mind.

In charge of sharing tactical information is St. Lucia’s current Groovy King, Teddyson ‘TJ’ John, who alongside his crafty writing partner, Telvin John, hooks all with “Backa”, which is Lucian slang for ‘Your Crew’ and is one part must-have fete list, one part declaration of no-safe-gyration zone, and one part urgent road instruction.
Meanwhile Fya Empress, the first ever triple Monarch title holder in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, shows off her skill as she whips feters into a fevered state, with “We Ready”, which was written by the dynamic duo of Akeem ‘Preedy’ Chance and Stephanas ‘Steffy’ Ramgattie of WiiMAD fame.
Majesty continues to reign as the Caribbean Queen of Bacchanal, Destra, joins the rumble intent on leaving nothing behind but dust in the frenetic “Mash Up” that was authored by Patrick ‘Mista Vybe’ Gordon.
Bacchanal rules in the middle of all this action as St Lucia's 2010 Power Soca Monarch and Road March King, DJ HP, delivers an energetic illustration of the scenario painted by Mista Vybe who does double writing duty in this riddim, showing off his witty side, this time, in the mauvaise langue tummy-tickler “Maddd Again”.
