From the underground dance floors of Europe to the sun-soaked streets of Los Angeles, skematix is a UK Garage DJ and producer on a mission to champion the sound that first sparked his love of electronic music.

A true global nomad, skematix grew up across seven countries and five continents, but it was in a high school in Belgium where he first heard the unmistakable sound of Artful Dodger and Craig David’s “Re-Rewind”, igniting a lifelong connection to UK Garage.

Landing in Seattle for university in the early 2000s, he cut his teeth producing shows with United State of Consciousness (USC Events) and his own outfit, basic. entertainment. But when life took him to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, that early love for UKG quietly faded into the background… until that two-step rhythm called him back.

Years later, skematix emerged, reignited, retooled, and ready. Honing his craft over the course of a yearlong program at the renowned ioMusic Academy in Hollywood, he dove headfirst into DJing and production. What started as simply reconnecting with his roots quickly became a new chapter. From the dusty stages of Burning Man to the late-night underground dance floors of Underwar3, Club Evil, and renegade desert raves, skematix has been steadily carving out his lane in the Los Angeles underground.

As a producer, skematix draws inspiration from the likes of Sammy Virji, Higgo, Mura Masa, Disclosure, and the Stanton Warriors — artists known for pushing genre boundaries while keeping dance floors moving. His breakout remix “Swift Style”, a two-step Taylor Swift bootleg, earned attention for its playful, dancefloor-ready spin on a pop anthem. More recently, “Singularity” marked his first foray outside of UKG, delivering a heavy, synth-driven journey through techno-inspired breakbeats that showcases his versatility and evolving sound.

A resident on UK-based Subtle Radio, skematix hosts skematix selects on the first Friday of every month at 2 AM (UK time). Blending the old and the new, he pushes UKG forward while paying homage to its foundations. Expect deep cuts, fresh releases, and the occasional detour into house, breaks, grime, dubstep, and DnB, all curated with precision and passion.
