Syheed Scott, better known as Syscott is an American rapper born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up in the streets of Philadelphia, the nation’s fourth largest urban area and a place where street smarts were a necessity for the young rapper, he managed to stay afloat. Like many Philly MC’s before him, Syscott got a taste of the Philadelphia arts community at an early age. His life experiences on the streets became a part of a vivid journalistic view of a never ending assembly line of street stories.

As a teen, he was later discovered by the late Lisa (Left Eye) Lopes. Enveloped with confidence and always ready to challenge the best, he loved street battles and challenged anyone that wanted to battle him. Watching the direction of Hip Hop flourish with the success of artists such as Pharrell, Nas, 50 Cent, T.I. Jay Z, Ludacris, OutKast, and Jermaine Dupri, he was ambitiously convinced that Hip Hop would be an integral part of his life. While taking time to rediscover himself, his approach rapidly changed course, discovering the joy of music production on his own terms, but keeping his music foundation strong. Many have called Syscott a battle rapper with an animated appeal which sometimes is compared to Busta Rhymes, RedMan, 50 Cent & Nas. His multi-dimensional style of writing embraces verses of love, race, politics, self-empowerment and raw street rhyme. His lyrical versatility positions him in a place that keeps his competitive edge viable.

Syscott, later joined forces with Erick Sermon (EPMD) and the Death Squad becoming an in-house ghost writer. Syscott, debuted in 2000 when he teamed with Erick Sermon for “Battle,” a track that landed on Lyricist Lounge, Vol. 2. Syscott was a feature artist on various tours such as The RedMan Tour and The Dallas Austin Experience. He also shared the stage with the likes of RedMan, Method Man, Dallas Austin, DMX, Erick Sermon, Busta Rhymes, Scarface, Ghetto Boys and Keith Murray. He was also a guest star on Sermon’s full-length music as well as the 2002 release React. In 2003, Scott and Sermon both appeared on Prince Paul’s Politics of the Business while 2004 brought one last appearance with his mentor as Scott landed on Sermon’s Chilltown, New York. In 2005, he moved to Atlanta where producer Dallas Austin was reviving his Rowdy Records imprint with the Decatur-based act Da BackWudz. As his buzz grew in the music industry and in the streets, Syscott linked up with Dallas Austin and signed to Rowdy Records. In 2007, Scott and the Rowdy family worked on his official debut, his Underground Mix Tape Sychosis, Vol. 1 with DJs Don Cannon and the Aphilliates.

Syscott, now armed with the experience of street battles and recording in the studio, he learned how to master his lyrical flow on wax. Finally, with all the misconceptions of what Syscott’s lyrical range may be it will soon be laid to rest upon his up and coming album not yet titled. This album will include tracks from The Justice League, Scott Storch, No Id, and Jazzy Pha. Album Features Appearances from Akon, Rick Ross, MC Breed, Pimp C, Keith Sweat, Nate Dogg,Neyo, Novel, Natalie Cole, Trey Songz and Jazzy Pha.
