I created my latest techno track, "Shelter," to provide security and help listeners overcome challenges. What do you do when you're trapped in a tour bus for 30 hours on the way from Vancouver to San Francisco? Well, you make the most of your time and create something amazing! Spontaneous, creative, and full of energy, the Fckng Serious Artists Boris Brejcha, Deniz Bul, and Moritz Hofbauer used their time on the tour bus during the North America Tour 2023 to collaborate on a track. The initiator and co-producer of this project is none other than videographer and long-time label friend Kevin Kaczynski, who was able to express his musical passion through this track. Adding the cherry on top in the form of a vocal part is Denise, a colleague and label friend. This new song is meant to be a little surprise for all the fans and friends of the label, just like it was a surprise for the entire label when Boris Brejcha played it as the last song in his set at Coachella. We hope you have fun listening and dancing to it!

Spektre’s record label Respekt welcomes a dark and driving techno EP from Joris Turenhout.

Joris Turenhout is a Dutch artist making his debut on Respekt following peak time techno releases on other respected imprints ranging from T78's Autektone to Mark Reeve's SubVision.

Based in Amsterdam, Joris Turenhout is a respected DJ within the Dutch club scene. His compelling style is a fusion of powerful synths rich in melody and thundering percussion that’s shrouded in dark atmosphere.

“Take Me Away” is the first of the two tracks on this release and it opens with a throbbing bassline and grinding synths layered with rave-inspired chords. Its soulful vocals add uplifting tones to the menacing tension of the intense groove.

“Unholy” is a dark and ominous track with a thumping kick drum and monstrous bassline layered with the suspense of hypnotic vocal textures to create a devastating groove.

What inspired me in the making of the song is the dirty saw main lead, when I got a flow going with the kick rumble and bass, I knew at that moment I wanted this track to consist of something an artist would play in the club between 10pm-12am, my style always consists of very energetic hype tunes and so adding a vox over these elements would only take the track that much higher in energy. In the break down I decided to go with a darkish dreamy vibe that leads you right back into the drop leading you to feel as if its peak time energy in the club.
