Young Jamaican MC Popcaan burst onto the scene in 2010 on the biggest dancehall tune of the year, ‘Clarks’. As Vybz Kartel’s protege, the 23-year old quickly proved himself as one of the most talented up-and-coming vocalists in the genre, lending his distinctive voice to an arsenal of bashment hits, from ghetto laments to party smashers.

After a string of big records in 2011, from ‘Only Man She Want’ to ‘Raving’, Popcaan became the first dancehall artist since Sean Paul to have his track playlisted on the BBC and has just been tipped as one of their ‘Hot 20 for 2012′. He joined Mixpak in 2012 with his first collaborative single with Dre Skull, ‘Get Gyal Easy’, followed by his cut on the Kling Klang riddim, ‘So We Do It’, as well as ‘The System’ on the Loudspeaker Riddim.

In 2014 he will release his debut album on Mixpak, executive produced by Dre Skull and featuring additional productions from Dubbel Dutch, Anju Blaxx, Jamie YVP and Adde. The first single, ‘Everything Nice’, is out now.

Le Rú, is a singer, songwriter, producer and creative director based in Nairobi, Kenya. The rising songstress first gained recognition after releasing her debut single “Why” in 2016 which was produced by popular beat maker and artist, Blinky Bill. She then went on to collaborate with various artistes within the Nairobi scene and perform at many different venues. Self described as the “Sweet and Spicy Hummingbird” , she finds freedom of expression when she sings, raps and writes her music. Her sound can be described as jazz and R&B with an African feel or simply afro-soul/afro-jazz.

Vallerie Muthoni aka Brown Suga is a Kenyan-American singer, rapper, dancer & creative director currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. 

A versatile artist that refuses to be put in one box, often experimenting with hip-hop/trap, RnB & Soul, and afro-fusion throughout her discography - on her two EPs 'the Wavey Soul (2018),  'Pisces SZN' (2019), and live album ‘Suga & Spice Live Sessions’ (2020). She names Beyonce, Teyana Taylor, Childish Gambino, Anderson Paak, Nicki Minaj & Kanye West as some of the influences in her artistry.

Famously known for her live performances she has perfected the art of engaging and relating with the audience in her storytelling, stage presence & charisma. Vallerie has performed at shows like Blankets & Wine Festival, Kilifi NYE festival, Tusker Oktobafest, and shared stages with renowned artists like Burna Boy, Lady Leshurr,  Kwesta, Shekhinah, Sauti Sol & Blinky Bill, to name a few. 

The young rising star got a sterling feature on COLORS X Studios for her undeniable confidence and flow on the song 'Brown Suga'. In 2018, listed as one of the youngest artists on Homeboyz Radio's annual roster ‘Jumpoff Freshmen Class’ Muthoni continues to shine in her city receiving frequent radio airplay and recognition through awards like the ‘Music Video of the Year’ at Unkut HipHop Awards 2019.  Aside from being a musician and  journalism undergraduate, she has taken on the role as ‘Director’ & ‘choreographer’ in her latest music videos and lately as an ‘Executive Producer’ on the virtual concert ‘Suga & Spice Live Sessions’ that she organized in October 2020, with a 10-track live-band album that followed a month later named after the same.
