Waiting For Christmas (NEW)

My first Christmas song! This was originally intended to be just a series of improvisations on Prokofiev's Troika ( Sleigh Ride ) but then I got the idea of bringing in a space theme. So I started thinking about the Apollo 11 moon landing and worked this in. I’m not quite sure how, but Neil Armstrong has ended up providing the main vocal hook - hence the extra title in brackets! There’s a hint of Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss about the brass section. I added the actual Strauss motif in the fade out just because….well, it’s meant to be a jolly festive song so why not?It was a whole heap of fun adding all the effects and touches to create that spacey and festive vibe. I hope you enjoy it and, obviously, have a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Sleigh Ride to the Moon (One Small Step)

Being in an unsafe environment.

I wrote this song with mixed feelings: one part of me wanted to express how I felt, the other part of me thought this was a really bad idea. Being in an abusive situation (both physical and emotional) can be very confusing. You start to think that it's your fault, that you deserved it, that it's normal, especially if that is what you're being told. You start to behave exactly as is expected of you, paying attention to all the rules, hoping you don't provoke anything. In the meantime, you're losing yourself bit by bit.
It's also confusing since it can go on for years without anyone else noticing it. If no one questions the other person(s), if no one tells you or them that what they're doing is wrong, it's hard to see the truth.
But I'm seeing the truth now and I think it's time to speak up, even though I'm terrified.

You must be extremely surprised by this foray into classical music.
The aim of this new experiment was to find a perfect, powerful voice to magnify lyrics that have special meaning for me. Classical music was the obvious choice to enhance this voice with a calm, gentle, and inspiring melody.
I hope that listening to it will stir beautiful emotions in you.

Playing with ideas.. mostly failing :)
I love listening to music, from the baroque era(love Bach, Vivaldi) and some traditional old music all the way to the music nowadays.

It's not how big the artist is, I'm listening to the song with no other expectations that finding a good musical story behind the music. 
Not a fan of progress and being different for the sake of it. 
I like when people try to revive and build on old ideas. I think it sometimes carries much bigger risks than trying new things and can go to interesting places..

Not a good instrument player,  but like to tinker with it..
