This is a song about how I didn't realize I'm sensitive to light because I've been dissociating too heavilly and too long

All of the people like me I didn’t wanna
punch in the face
were setting off before their play
were burning up before they even held my flame

I started seeing things blurry when I was just 15
I’m not used to wearing hats, see.
I’m not used to having a say on who touches me, now the

curtain is up, and the laptop’s too loud and the
angel numbers say my twin’s coming back, and I
feel something rumbling deep within me, think
I’m ending my life or I’m learning to live in the

maybe my gp’s worried
maybe there’s someone else beside him I’d
let touch me
maybe it’s harrowing
maybe it’s cornered me
maybe it's been in my eyes, the bright

maybe the ward has no beds
maybe I grasp a love an addict wouldn't -
maybe he's not bread
maybe the gods weren't real
that's why I pray to him, but we sneeze at the
light the bright

I sit behind a screen

In a blaze of inactivity

I dare to call it work

Relentless innovation 
Requires concentration 
To thrive in this knowledge economy 
My digital creations 
Have no physical manifestation 
I deal in intellectual property

Our avatars 
In silhouette 
Addicted to 
The internet 
We type and type 
But never sweat

Our bellies stuffed 
Perpetually 
Defining sloth 
And gluttony 
We die too soon 
But live like kings

For now let's just enjoy it 
No reason to avoid it 
Who needs an extra gear to coast downhill? 
Succumb, my couch potato 
Adopt my humble credo 
And watch the world revolve while we sit still
