But it's one that I think it's worth touching back in on every now and then because pet for Palestinian people, they live it every day. And if you follow the news set, there's constantly reports of violent attacks by settlers on Palestinian people and expanding of Israeli territory."

On today's show we are talking about the ongoing dispossession, oppression, resilience and resistance of Palestinian people. We get an update from Lee Rhiannon who has just returned from Palestine, hear about the importance of Palestinian dakbe dancing from Sameer Ellagta, and replay an interview with Olfat Mahmoud - a legend of Palestinian humanitarian work who has sadly just passed away.

Comment by Ramzy Baroud about the court decision - #ICJ ruling is extremely important: It created the legal mechanism to end the genocide in #Gaza; it initiated the procedure of looking into the case of genocide; it renewed hope in intl. legal system, which has been made largely irrelevant due to US pressures and use of the veto.
Analysis - the International Court of Justice in The Hague would not be drawn into dispute with the UN security council and so intentionally left out of its orders South Africa's request for an immediate ceasefire. Something else has to be done the institutions of law and of international community have failed to people of Gaza and the people of the West Bank.

The Arabic word for flag is Alam. And it's also the subject of a film, a sad film, but very insightful too. Its about Palestinian kids that are being taught by Israeli teachers. And they hate it. And every time something happens in the community under occupation, the kids want to raise the Palestinian flag. 

Sometimes one of their comrades would get killed, shot by the Israelis, as is happening now in Gaza and on the West Bank. 

They would raise the Palestinian flag and the black flag to commemorate the death of their friends. 

This a similar story a symbol of resistance happened today (9 March 2024) in Magandjin, and that's Brisbane, in Queensland, where we had the march of 1000 flags. Here is that story ...
