CTRLZORA is a Chicago musician, (The Cowrie) party and mix series curator, Bridgeport Records music and event director, disc jockey, producer, and black queer dance music equitist dedicated to preserving the act of sonic communion of marginalized people through house, techno, and other rhythms throughout the world. Zora carries a sound that cannot be confused for anything short of authentic and raw, spanning from the furthest corners of Midwestern dance music all the way to the expansive sounds of the African diaspora and beyond, often collaborating with the creators of the original Warehouse and Music Box Chicago. Mentored and collaborating with the very pioneers of the art form in chicago, they frequently travel across the country platforming midwestern sounds and aiding in the reclamation of dance music as a liberatory birthright to all diasporic people.
