The seasons are, by their very nature, changeable, movable feasts, depending upon the latitude wherein one finds oneself.  For example, the day today outside my studio window seemed brief, cold and very rainy - miserable weather, one might say. 

If I look north towards my friends in far-flung places such as Tromsø, a city located on the island of Tromsøya which sits in the Tromsøysundet strait, just off the mainland of Northern Norway, the situation is somewhat different. The temperatures are currently around 10°C lower than here - and will drop much, much further as the year progresses - and as for the rain, well that as you may have guessed, is snow. Lots of snow.

Somewhere in between these two points sits Silja who, always topical (if not tropical) is singing her own small song of hibernation as the year, wearied by it all, is slowly sinking into the sacred secret sleep which ensures that Spring arrives on time next year. I think her song somehow helps the plants and animals who hear it to forget the outer world and to draw themselves upon their innermost cores.

I listened for a while and then added some music which I hope doesn’t interfere with her magic too much and which I hope will keep you too, safe and warm
