Renowned Jazz musician Ulf Kleiner lands on Ian Pooley’s Pooled Music this April with ‘Tubes’Grande’ featuring three remixes from the label boss. 

A long term collaborator of Pooley, lending rich keyboard work to the legendary producer’s records over the years, Ulf Kleiner is better known outside of electronic music. Taken from his 2020 LP, ‘Pianoskop’, ’Tubes Grande’ is a light but immersive piece of acoustic modern Jazz that, at just 3.36 minutes, begs repeat listens. Pooley’s interpretations, a ‘Main Version’, ‘Dub’ and ‘Analog Piano Dub Mix’ lead Kleiner’s work to the dancefloor in distinct ways, showing off the producers deft touch and studio experience across the package. From the decidedly organic, mid-paced house of the ‘Analog Piano Dub’ to the dense, electronic melodies of the ‘Main Version’ to the blissed out ‘Ian Pooley Dub’ this Pooley in the form of his career.

Sailor & I are back with their latest productions for Life and Death. The two original tracks, while very different in moods, both share lush productions and a dramatic musical storytelling not often found in a typical dance release. While Boys & Girls offers a slowed-down mournful and yet beautiful nostalgic tale of childhood days gone by, Turn Around comes straight out of the gate like a racehorse on fire, flanked by strong strings and a vocal that pleads a case for love that comes straight from the heart. 

And of course rounding out the release is arguably one of the most anticipated tracks of the summer. Ever since it first started falling on people’s ears earlier this year, the Âme remix of “Turn Around” has been the high point of sets by Tale of Us, Dixon, Mano Le Tough as well as the few select others that have had their hands on it up until this point. It’s been giving goosebumps to club goers everywhere and with good reason — this is Âme at their finest, taking the song and extending it into an epic masterpiece that works wonders on a dancefloor while never losing the bewitching essence of the original.

Jess Varela bases her musical selection through fine tracks that move herself.
She grew up with the eclectic mix of her childhood: rock, classical music and European and American electronics, which, becomes a mixed spectrum of diverse musical influences. Nowadays, this translates into sets fused with various musical influences, turning them into rhythms of different musical genres, but according to the "mood" of the night.
Jess began her musical interest through the study of propaedeutic as an instrumentalist musician (clarinetist) at the National School of Music. In the last 11 years, electronic music has been the best window to reflect her passion and love for music. In the booth, she lets her joyful, wild and a little crazy spirit unite, combining with a good technique in the mixing of rhythms. In her sets she likes to include current "tracks" standing out for a sweet style with a dark touch, playing with different musical genres, going from Deep House, Deep Tech, Progressive House, Melodich Techno, with a little House and Indie Dance.

A few years ago she started as a promoter of events in the increasingly positioned "KOALA Music", where she has not only expanded as a DJ, but also, making use of her ear dedicated to music, she has undertaken the search for national talent to offer them support and present them in the best “Venues” in CDMX. "KOALA Music" has become an important organizer and promoter of events, helping the culturization and formality of the "underground" electronic scene by putting together the "line up" according to the concept of the place, schedules and the style of the DJ to invite.
"For me, it is about generating a sexy sequence on set, this is fundamental, in addition to impressing the heart in each play; being able to share with the dancefloor the unique experience of each musical folder that I prepare for them, in order to make them vibrate."
In her 11-year career as a DJ, she has become a well-known DJ in the local scene, having more exposure and opening the doors of the most recognized places in CDMX such as Hookah Lounge (Grupo Hookah), Terraza Catedral, Pacífico, AM Local, Americana Club Social, Tara and open air or "underground" events.

In the booth, he focuses on transmitting her energy and passion, always taking care of the selection, musical quality, and sequence to always be in synergy with the dance floor and the place.
Lately, she is in her beginnings as a producer of electronic music, resuming her melodic and rhythmic studies, but now with a view to producing more than applying what she learned at the National School of Music. Definitely, Jess Varela is a Mexican DJ with great talent and great projection that must be followed.
