This track was composed for the Naviar Haiku project (@naviar-records), week 240:

The extra challenge that I set myself this time was to get it all done in one session, only use hardware (reverb and delay mostly in the can though) and record it in one take. 
This had the result that it got “written” (more of a jam, really) and recorded all in one afternoon, which is crazy fast for me. 
Of course, it’s a lot rougher than I usually prefer, but that was the concept - It is what it is. Warts and all.

My collaboration with amazing guitarist Jack Oli. It's  history of small boy who decides (together with camel)  to leave village and go to big city. Together they traveled across the desert and meet many dangerous people, but at the end they arrived to big city.

Reading the haiku immediately conjured up a wide variety of associated images and feelings for me. It gave me the strong sense of being an image from some sort of contemporary film noir. The tinted windscreen seemed not only a dark contrast to the neon surroundings, but also suggested to me a division between the watcher and the watched, feelings of isolation or alienation. As I turned the haiku round in my head and pictured the scene, the pattern that starts at 1.45 ish began to accompany my thoughts and I developed the piece from there.

I, Behre, hobbyist musician, singer, songwriter, this-that-and-the-other, am in the SoundCloud primarily to collaborate. Yes, I occasionally post tracks that I have made mostly, or even entirely, on my own - But it is for collaboration that I came, because I think it produces much more interesting results. My musical roots are in the late seventies and early eighties - Mostly post punk and new wave.
Main influences are probably bands like Ultravox and Japan, but there has of course been lots of others as well.
