Haiku #221: Spring approaches / the Pacific Ocean / will be my sitting mat

Ok, I know that this great song by Radiohead has been covered a million times or so and probably ninety nine times out of a hundred by people more clever than me - But I was playing around with this ARP2600 sequencer and I just couldn't help myself...

I've made it sort of nineties meets the eighties. (There's even an Ultravox sample in there - see if you can spot it!)

Well, I did one so I thought that I might as well do another…

Again, it all began with playing around with Arturia's excellent ARP2600. This time it's actually just one note played - The melody was achieved by reprogramming the step sequencer, sort of "on the fly", with the aid of the automation features provided by Logic and the plugin. 

Also, I couldn't resist fiddling about a bit with my new ebow.

Spring Approaches (Naviarhaiku221)

After having been lurking about and commenting on tracks for a while now, I've been feeling a bit guilty about not putting anything of my own out there.

As this was the only song that I had even remotely "finished", the choice was sort of easy.

It a very simple, almost two-note, little ditty that was something that I put together a few years back when I first got Logic. It was really just an experimentation track to begin with. I'm sort of fond of it myself though - Mostly because it sort of wrote itself, even the lyrics (which is _very_ rare for me).

I haven't touched the original (which is also unusual for me, otherwise forever tweaking), as I was afraid that it would loose it's "charm" if I did. I _did_ rerecord the vocals just now though, as I have have only a moderate cold at the moment - As opposed to the severe one I had when I first recorded it.

I hope you enjoy it - It's even sort of seasonal, what with all those bells!

I, Behre, hobbyist musician, singer, songwriter, this-that-and-the-other, am in the SoundCloud primarily to collaborate. Yes, I occasionally post tracks that I have made mostly, or even entirely, on my own - But it is for collaboration that I came, because I think it produces much more interesting results. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel like giving working with me a go! 

My musical roots are in the late seventies and early eighties - Mostly post punk and new wave.
Main influences are probably bands like Ultravox and Japan, but there has of course been lots of others as well.
