With most DJ’s barely getting their teeth in to 2014 yet, Rotterdam based composer and producer Eelke Kleijn is already back teasing more huge tracks. Set for release on Feb. 24 on Eskimo Recordings are two brand new originals. ‘Lovely Sweet Divine’ is a slice of space disco heaven. This otherworldly tune is drenched in expansive reverb, disco rhythms and infectious arpeggiated basslines.

Typically brooding with an uplifting inflection, 'A Tale Of Two Lovers' is Eelke at the top of his game – only what we have come to expect from recent months. Combining fluid violins, hang drums and his typical bass rumble it’s a track from someone so adept at production they have the confidence and freedom to play around with styles in the 7-minute runtime.

If one track embodied the uplifting, 80s-infused spirit of Michael Cassette’s debut album ‘Temporarity’ best then that track was surely ‘Crockett’s Theme’. A cover of Jan Hammer’s Miami Vice theme tune from the famous 80s TV show, Michael Cassette’s interpretation of ‘Crockett’s Theme’ takes one of the most iconic pieces of electronic music from that decade and brings it cruising into the clubs of the 2011.

Now married with a brilliant proggy tech remix from the legendary Tom Middleton, ‘Crockett’s Theme’ is set to reign supreme on the dancefloors of everywhere from Miami to Ibiza in a way it has never done before.

A producer who has dabbled in the full rainbow of electronic sound and remixed everyone from Orbital to Prince, Tom Middleton remains a unique and versatile talent in today’s electronic music scene. 

Unsurprisingly, his Cosmos mix of ‘Crockett’s Theme’ adds yet more appeal to an already universally loved anthem. Adding a hypnotic tech tweak and an instantly infectious groove, Middleton’s Cosmos Mix gives things an underground edge, before slowly swelling the speakers with the unmistakable melodies of the original for a dramatic melodic payoff. 

Completing the package, Komytea take things down a dark, throbbing techno path for a killer contrast to the other two mixes.

Every so often.. I feel like clearing the decks as it were -  and giving away a selection of things I've been playing for a while but haven't necessarily been available elsewhere. Now feels like a good time to do that again! Kicking off with this remake of a remake of Jacob and Phil Fill's haunting 'Mephisto' which was recently featured on my May Promo mix. The original, fantastic remake was sent to me by Felkon and I added my own arrangement, and drums etc. This download is available at full aiff quality.
