Mikael ”Mike” Fall is an university educated composer and harmonica player from the small town outside of Linköping called Rimforsa in the south of Sweden.

He has studied music at KKL in Piteå, in the north of Sweden, for 6 years. Mikael Bäckman has been his mentor on the harmonica and Jan Sandström & Johan Ramström in composition.

Fall has a great passion for blues and jazz but also for classical program and film music. In 2008 he produced and arranged the jazz musical ”Harlem Riot” which was a collaboration with over 50 students. It contained actors, dancers, musicians, sound and light engineers, design students and a television crew.

His examination concert in the spring of 2011 was a 2 act show which included his own written compositions in program music and a score to the motion picture ”The Great Train Robbery”. The harmonica was the featured instrument alongside the piano, a string quintet and percussion in the first act. The second act also included his own written pieces but in the blues genre. The whole idea of this production was to show the audience the versatile range of the harmonica.

Fall has also collaborated with and composed a couple of pieces to the symphony orchestra called ”NorrlandsOperan”, in Umeå, Sweden.

Since 2011 Mikael lives i Stockholm and he has been playing, touring and recording music with many different artists and bands like Caroline af Ugglas, Lars Winnerbäck, Brolle, Lisa Lystam Family Band and more. He is also a member of the house/pop-duo Riverfall and the music group ”Kontrapunk”.

In 2015 he release his first solo EP, ”When Fire Turns To Smoke”. A cinematic pop record with influences of blues, rock and jazz.

In the spring of 2018 he will be releasing his first solo album called ”Born In A Different Time” were he goes back to his early jazz roots. You can here influences from early Ellington tunes and circus like atmosphere in the style of Tom Waits.

In november 2018 he was a guest soloist with Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. (Scroll up to see clip)
