Founder / DJ for Kapital Music, Edinburgh

Born in Dublin, Ireland. Barry O’Connell is an Edinburgh-based DJ, producer and founder of the forward-thinking techno and electronic club night, Kapital.

He has been instrumental in crafting Kapital’s defining sound, which takes in everything from deep driving techno, to minimal tech house and trippy melodic electronics.

Of his DJ style, Barry says, “I enjoy trying to make a set flow well and I try to stay clear of a constant kick driven 4×4 techno sound, but like to think of it more as a melodic journey with the odd moment of twisted madness”.
