PREVIEW of the next big project..... In summer 2014 Sylvie (aka Luliby) the wonderful and extremely talented Cellist from Corsica and me we are planning to do some high quality studio recordings in Italy of some assorted pieces.

"Leaving" (Dressed) by Henning Nugel - Contemplative Cinematic

Miniatures for Harp and Recorders, track 11 of 11.
This track uses the Soprano Recorder (from the new Audio Modeling SWAM VariFlute app) and is played by me using GeoShred.

I’m a big fan of recorder music, a much maligned instrument in my opinion.
As well as the late lamented David Munrow, Richard Harvey was my favourite player of the 1970’s.
Known now for his film and tv music, he was better known in the 70’s as being a member of the ‘medieval’ rock group Gryphon and being a virtuoso recorder player. His LP ‘Divisions on a Ground’ from 1975 was on my turntable a lot.
I stumbled across a YouTube video version of the LP a few weeks ago and it prompted me to have a go at playing one of the pieces, something I would never have even imagined a few years ago.
So with the availability of the SWAM Variflute and a lot time trying to work out what he was playing, here is my attempt at the second piece on the LP, Variations From "Der Gooden Fluyt Hemel" (by Paulus Matthysz , published 1644)
Actually it’s only about a half of his version and played at a lot less than a half of the speed he plays it at 😊

When I composed the album "Shadowdance" I tried to make sense of the beauty when melody and harmony interact and with the wish that this will affect the listener.
I wrote it to put into sound that which cannot be expressed through words. 
To navigate the waters of the deep soul. 
To explore the melodies that flow in my veins.

IceRequiem is an artist focused on making instrumental tracks using primarily the piano and violin. She fuses dramatic classical motifs with modern electronic elements and techniques to create a unique sound. Beginning with simple covers, she has since branched out to create originals and collaborations with other artists all over the globe.
