Rhythms Radio Show

After years of fruitful studio work and intense worldwide touring with his band Stavroz, Beazar now steps out of the shadow. On his newest EP Furry Tale the Belgian abandons the strict four to the floor backbone of his earlier work in pursuit of more freedom, to express his dry and stern grooves laden with bittersweet tension. Inspired by Radiohead, Amon Tobin, Stimming, Apparat or Lorn, Beazar delivers his most delicate offering so far.

The first single ‘Furry Tale’ is an earworm. Inspired by the capricious behaviour of a cat swinging from good-hearted flattering to a fierce temper in just the blink of an eye, its anecdotal nature will most likely get it passed on from one generation to another, as an ancient history that carefully needs to be preserved. The EP's title track marks a new and seasoned stage in Beazar’s creative path.

It comes with an equally cinematographic video by the hand of choreographer Işıl Bıçakçı. Hailing from Istanbul, her vision on contemporary dance has brought her and her pieces to celebrated festivals all over the world.

Marzo es un buen mes para bucear entre recopilatorios, entre los que los publican motivados por la Winter Music Conference y los que no. Pero la premiere que traemos entre manos hoy, es espacial y especial.

'Global Entry' lleva su nombre, entre otras cosas, por la diversidad de nacionalidades de los productores incluidos: Alemania, Argentina, Italia, Reino Unido, España, Rusia, Marruecos, Francia e Israel, cada uno con una personalidad propia.

11 tracks, seleccionados con más cariño que las frutas en los anuncios de la televisión por el sello Sol Selectas.

Y se nota cuando escuchas la calidad de los tracks incluidos, que van desde el tribal house, pasando por algún corte de carácter más disco o incluso Deep house melódico como este que el sello nos ha permitido presentaros como premiere del lanzamiento.

DSR is back with a new 7" release by Norwegian fivesome hubbabubbaklubb.

The band, of which Danish edit maestro Joystick Jay is a member, weave an all-live smooth disco vibe with toasty warm synths and a stoned summer aura.

'Mopedbart' is best mixed with a hammock, cold beer and a sunset as it jams along with mellow pads, hand claps and the story of a dude cruising around town on his scooter living it easy. 'Lille Sote Svanse' picks up the pace for a popping disco cut which simmers away with its bass-heavy groove before giving way to a stunning Rick Wright-inspired lead break journey into the stratosphere.

Both sides ooze colour and transport anybody within earshot straight to a toasty world of deck chairs, disco dancing and good times.

Berlin Club Culture is facing the biggest challenge in its history. On Friday, the 13th of March, all of Berlin´s nightlife was officially shut down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Since then, about 9000 employees, as well as tens of thousands of artists have been without work and wages, and the existence of many of the places that give Berlin its identity is threatened.

As a reaction to the closing of all Berlin clubs and to the rest of the world being in quarantine, Berlin is showing its support and solidarity by bringing the biggest possible digital club to your home.

This Thursday 2nd of July we have a very special episode of Dave Bianchi’s From The Source, with none other than Bob Moses filling the guest slot. The Vancouver bred duo, consisting of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, came to life in the Brooklyn underground scene in 2012. Early single releases on taste-making electronic label Scissor & Thread led to signing with Domino and the late 2015 release of their debut album Days Gone By. 
Meshing guitar licks, a moody smolder and a dash of dance floor ambiance with lyrical depth and classic songwriting, the duo created a sound that appeals equally to club goers and rock music fans. Translating their sound seamlessly to the live performance realm, years of nonstop global touring including appearances at every major festival from Glastonbury and Coachella, to EDC, Lollapalooza and beyond cemented the duo’s reputation as a must-see live act. A standout performance on The Ellen Show, a pair of nominations at both the Junos and the Grammys (and a Grammy win), and a top 15 US Alternative radio hit with "Tearing Me Up,” have further sealed the band’s burgeoning mainstream success.

In meiner Heimatstadt Hamburg, wie überall sonst auch, sind die Clubs in denen wir unzählige, schöne Nächte vor und auf der Bühne verbracht haben, hart am Kämpfen. Es ist schwer zu sagen, wie es für die Veranstaltungsbranche weitergeht. Vor allem ist die Ungewissheit, wann es denn endlich wieder losgehen könnte, für mich persönlich, das schlimmste und natürlich frage ich mich, wie es denn danach weiter geht. Ob es jemals so sein wird wie vor der Pandemie? Ich hoffe sehr, dass es in kleinen Schritten voran gehen wird. Hamburg soll eine vielfältige Musikstadt bleiben! Der Clubkombinat Hamburg hat eine Startnext-Kampagne ins Leben gerufen.
