1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

I started Djing for real in 2008, when I started the party TALCO BELLS, a Funk and Soul Party in São Paulo, but I've always been in love with music, researching, doing mix tapes, etc... I used to have a big CD collection, and then the digital era came with MP3s and Napster. I just went crazy. I couldn't work, all I did was search and download. So I started Djing with CDs, but then I saw the guest Djs coming with the vinyl cases, and I thought that's what I want... But people warned me about how heavy and expensive it was. At the time I was following some Blogs from parties in San Francisco and they just played 45's and I thought, that's a cool way to have the tunes I want on vinyl. So that's how and Why I started buying 45's. And I never stopped and I never bought a LP in my life (I maybe have like 8 LPs that people gave me). 

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

I Always loved, and still love to listen to albums, but that's something I do at home or anywhere else in my headphones. For me, DJing is about the tunes, so I'm digging for tunes not for albums when it comes to DJing. I Love trying to mix tracks, I don't really rehearse, I like mixing different songs every time and getting it right is such a big reward. Because one thing we know, mixing with 45's is HARD. So everytime I play is a challenge, and I like that challenge. I don't like rotary mixers because it makes this challenge too hard, I feel like I need an extra hand to play on that thing... so I end up mixing less, and that's less fun (But I do it too).  

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

Well, I love the originals, but I also love Edits and reworks that give a more updated feel to the old tunes. So I mixed a bit of both on this Mix, I like to hear and play edits from non Brazilian DJs and producers on Brazilian tunes. I also like doing edits and I released some on 7" vinyl. There are 3 or 4 of them in this mix.
