A note from the band:

A little over three years ago we began writing these songs with the intention of putting out a new record but making sure we did it right and took our time.  
A lot of challenges and changes pushed these recordings from being released in 2014... and then from being released in 2015...  Life moves pretty quick sometimes!!  The most extreme of these changes was the departure of our amazing vocalist, tireless work force, partner in crime and the dearest keeper of our hearts, Jodie Schell, whom was leaving the City of Los Angeles and opening a beautiful new chapter in her life. Roughly 8 months ago, on November 6th, 2015 The Shakers took the stage for the last time with her, in what was a very uncertain time for the band.  When the last chord was struck on that night and our instruments dropped to the floor, as heavy as our hearts, the future for The Shakers felt very unclear.  

Evolution breeds creation and from this unforeseen twist of fate some incredibly wonderful things emerged.  None as beautiful and awe inspiring as the sheer elation, like thee epicenter of happiness and bliss that is Jodie, Tyler and their perfect, gorgeous baby girl, Mabel.This record is for them.  Jodie dedicated every waking second of her life for 7 years to The Shakers, there’s no question that her charm and personality and light were the beacon of the band.  Even in the final meetings we had with her (all of us gently [or not so gently] sobbing into our matzo ball soups at Canter’s deli) it was her support, positivity and love of this music that encouraged us to carry on.  It was surely an incredibly sad time for all of us but all of that sadness was heavily outweighed with sheer delight knowing that Jodie was going to achieve something she was made to do (even more than rocking a stage)… Bringing beauty into the world, which she did in true above-and-beyond fashion as she always does, with her perfect little lady, Mabel. 

Thank you for everyone who supported us for the past 7 years and for those of you who continue to support the future of both The Shakers and Jodie's beautiful family, as although a few time zones and a bit of a road trip separate us, we’ll always be part of the same Shakers family.

Please enjoy this album, free of charge, from us to all of you.  

And a huge thank you to you, Jodie Schell.  You'll always be a Shaker in our books.
