Like the forgotten soundtrack to an overcast day, "Going Down" by Hungarian producer AMB seeks to explore an inner restlessness in the listener. A perfect storm of downtempo, techno, RnB, and future bass vibes permeate this seven track EP, acting as the perfect illustration of this songwriter's diverse skill set. Moody strings are interwoven with shadowy bass laid bare on a bedrock of intelligent percussion, setting up a tender yet climatic atmosphere for the album. Toward the end of the journey, legendary bass music producer The Widdler flips "Night Slide" into a highly emotive excursion through future garage, concluding things in a fitting fashion. The entire release is available as a free/pay-what-you-want download via Gravitas Recordings, marking a sense of AMB's gratitude toward his fans as well as life itself.

This piece is the Arabian Dance, also often called "Coffee", from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet. This movement was written for my dear friend, Atlanta Artist/Photographer/Author 'Mechel Cisco', as a Christmas present a couple of years ago.  Mechel is a kindred creative soul, and is an artistic genius in her on right!  She is a confidant and a muse! Mechel is a beautiful soul, inside and out.  I tried to capture her exquisite and exotic beauty and mystical charm in this arrangement. 
This is one of 10 movements from my "Nutcracker Suite for Percussion", which has been a 20 year project of passion. Performing the Nutcracker is like a clinic on the most common symphonic percussion instruments. Tchaikovsky was a genius of writing for percussion instruments. Very few school percussionists get the opportunity to perform this brilliant and timeless music. Tchaikovsky’s genius, magic, orchestration concepts, voicing, and nuance are captured in this percussion suite of 10 dances from the Nutcracker Ballet. This arrangement requires at least one 5 octave marimba and at least one glockenspiel with a low F.

Instrumentation: 2 sets of Bells (at least 1 with low F), Crotales, 2 Xylophones, 2 Vibraphones, 2 Marimbas (one marimba must be a 5 octave marimba), 4 Timpani, Finger Cymbals, 2 Triangles, Electronic Keyboard with bassoon sound (or 2 bassoon players), Chinese Opera gong (pitch bends up), Chinese Jing Gong (pitch bends down), Chinese Fuyin Gong (small, thin, and low-pitched), 2 Orchestral Tambourines, Castanets, Suspended Cymbal, Bell Tree, and Cymbals.
