‘PROTO’ takes on a trio of unique forms, two supplied by Pan-Pot, whilst Canadian underground legend Mike Shannon delivers the third. “We wanted to do something special for the 20th anniversary of Pan-Pot, so we jumped back into the studio with our friend Hugh Betcha, who we produced ‘Charly’ with back in 2007, released on Mobillee. Our very first ‘hit’ track that received international recognition” says Pan-Pot. 

The original mix of ‘PROTO’ wastes no time in getting you re-acquainted with Pan-Pot’s vigorous production style, echoing the robustly energetic DJ performances that have seen them attain endless global acclaim. Orbiting the ominous vocal centrepiece, a rhapsody of powerful drums, coarse industrial percussive drive and the modulating envelopes of a savage lead bassline all combine to serve a pulsating peak-time slammer. “The lyrics of 'PROTO' are the continuation of the original ‘Charly’ track. Just have a listen....’ adds Pan-Pot. 

The ‘Stripped’ mix offers a dynamically contrasting persona, built around the hollows of thudding kicks, crisp hat grooves, an acidic bell-type synth lead and a mind-bending sine wave that will challenge your ability to stay on beat with the track’s spurring pace. 

Mike Shannon’s remix of ‘PROTO’ takes things deep, groovy and swinging on a Minimal tip. Throwing the track from left to right from the outset, its combination of chunky drums, endless layers of percussive movement and rhythmic sub-bass provide a solid core for a kaleidoscope of subtle musical accents that flow throughout the mix. It’s playful, cool, and underground and will keep you on your toes from start to finish.

We are delighted to welcome Hools to ICONYC with his brand-new 'Not Afraid of Sunlight EP'. The talented Berlin based producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and has graced some of the world's finest electronic music labels with his unique and lasting productions. He developed an inimitable style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided him to where he is today and embodies the sound he now personifies. People regularly equate his productions as remarkable and flamboyant in equal measures. 
 
On his debut Hools leads the way with the outstanding title track 'Not Afraid of Sunlight'; a stunning driving melodic techno affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture to create an ingeniously worked piece of art.

The melodic breaks soundscapes of the accompanying title track 'The Square Root of Nothing' rounds off this spectacular release. Hools' influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive breaks inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, complemented by a subtle breaks groove that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Stunningly textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodic infused bassline provide the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. Essential stuff!

Maceo Plex & AVNU have teamed up for 'Clickbait (This Ain't Hollywood)', the standout new single from Maceo Plex’s forthcoming album.

The topical lyrics aim to highlight the disparities between social media influencer lifestyles and the realities of everyday life in mainstream Hollywood and modern-day society in general.

ICONYC are pleased to welcome Berlin based ANMA to the label with his brand new two track 'Abaangui EP' to get any dust infused legs shaking. ANMA who hails from France and needs no further introduction to the electronic music loving soul, delivers a magnificent EP showcasing his exceptional production skills.

We kick things off with the title track 'Abaangui' a peak time techno dance floor monster which features a blend of deep bass tones, driving drum programming, cleverly chopped samples and intricately laced chord progressions, building to a massive breakdown before rebuilding to an unrelenting crescendo of energetic drum beats, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline. 'Abaangui' is a club monster that growls from the minute you push the play button. 

The accompanying track 'Jasy Jatere' is another pumping club affair utilizing a hypnotizing synth chord as the basis of the track, before all manner of varied melodies weave in and out of the stereo field to close out this wonderful 2 track release in style. ANMA reinforces his reputation as one the scenes most consistent techno performers and once again showcases his huge array of production skills. Incredible stuff!

Following the resonance of "About Last Night", Berlin-based artist Jil Tanner returns to ICONYC Red to deliver one of the label's final and most definitive manifestos—a powerful compilation mixed and curated by Tanner herself.

Our journey opens with He Told Me's "Dark Harbor (Carbon Remix)", setting an electric pace for the rest of this mix. With a throbbing low end, this piece races across tunnels in search of fizzy sequences and lingering notes before overlapping with Kaiser Souzai's "In Excess". Another ICONYC Red stalwart, Souzai, slowly amps the tension with a series of tight string swells and meandering vocals over cascading arpeggios for a haunting apparition.  

He Told Me resurfaces with a vengeance on "Angel Dust (BOHO Remix)", where a feral bassline tears through the mix like a rogue current, twisting and mutating with unrelenting force. The chaos gives way to Soolver's "Jahwe", which surges forward with pounding rhythms and bold brass flourishes—a commanding presence that refuses to be ignored.

ClonesForHire's "Captive Mind" shifts the mood into spectral territory, where disembodied voices flicker through a driving rhythm, conjuring a late-night séance of introspection and propulsion. The illusion intensifies as Rachel Raw's "Pineapple" kicks in—a slick, hypermodern ride built on staccato hats and effervescent synth lines, each element pushing us deeper into the subterranean pulse of the mix.

Coming in hot, Mafia B & Rami Paradise link up for "Inside His Soul", where a heavy beat stomps is way across delectable vocal flourishes and acidic stabs until it breaks new ground for our following act. Leaving its mark with its jet-black bursts, Santiablo's "Mercado Sonorra" moves forward as surging tides swell and crash against the frame with unbridled thrust.

Blazing up, Jil Tanner deploys her celebrated "About Last Night", a gargantuan rollercoaster that takes us higher with its explosive percussion and classic techno-laced synths before unveiling a gripping breakdown. As we pick up on the last curves, AQUO's "Reborn Survivor (Markus Volker Remix)" works its endless throbbing, coursing through uncharted terrain with its lingering wails and irresistible riff. 

Making a spectral apparition, Santiablo's "Tepetlapa" sithers over tinkering hi-hats as grinding gears and malfunctioning electronics escort us across haunted halls where the ghosts of tomorrow come alive as it leads the way to our next stop.  Then, without warning, we go deeper underground with ANMA's "Relinquo". Between sprawling synths and its vocal laments, this piece is a downward spiral that challenges imagination with every passing beat.

On our last turn, Rubina's "Insomnia" takes hold with its delectable chord stabs and tantalizing key strokes that rummage through gritty corners and dusty rooms before making way for our final chapter. Making a grand return thanks to Kaiser Souzai's own twist, Jil Tanner's "About Last Night" has the last say with its throwback to the heady, tribal club-sound of the aughties for a showstopping finale.
