This track was inspired by my time spent in Israel around the booming psytrance scene. People dance like its their ritual therapy and smiles and hugs circulate the community. No divisions between people, everyone there for one reason, musical connection and dance. I wanted to capture that felling by experimenting with the psytrance 4 on the floor beat and add an ethnic shuffle, that carries a middle eastern vibe with the instrumentation and melodic patterns and harmonic scales. I imagine this piece as a journey through the Negev desert.

“Escape Route” is the second single from the next GPU Panic EP, “Sand Haze”. After “Melting Haze”, released this March, we have the chance to get to know a little more of the new EP from this portuguese producer who was present at the last edition of the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal.

“Escape Route” leads us, during almost 9 minutes, through a winding and frenetic escape where we lack time to breathe and look back. This is how GPU Panic’s last few months have been. 2016 brought a USA tour ( SXSW, LA, SF and NYC ) and shows in some of the most reputable portuguese festivals - Lisboa Dance Festival, NOS Alive, Milhões de Festa and Lisb-On Jardim Sonoro. It is now time to get into the hasty rhythm of “Escape Route” while we wait for “Sand Haze”, which will be edited this July.
