Uncompromising, Dark, Atmospheric. Techno! That’s the sound of Cortechs. It did not take long until the unique sound of Cortechs became attention in the global underground scene of techno music. After multiple releases on various prestigious labels, Cortechs earned his rightful position among the most important producers and performers of the german underground techno movement.

With his first album "The End Justifies The Means" which was released on his regular label "Machine Box", Cortechs was able to give his sound a very personal touch and gather enough raw materials to use and intuitively play with in his exquisite Ableton Live sets. Having been on tour through Germany a lot of times, he always found inspiration for producing new sounds. This new material was also the basis for upcoming projects like the "Last 13 EP" released on Steil or the collaboration with Hackler & Kuch which was released on De-Konstrukt. With remixes for Angy Kore, Niereich, Morgan Tomas, Cortechs has become an important and much requested remixer in the scene.

In 2013 even more live gigs came around. This automatically resulted in much new material again which directly found ist way into his ableton sessions . This was also the biggest influence for his next big Project, his second LP "Waste of Humanity", which will be released on Steil later this year. So if you are looking for atmospheric and massive bassline tracks, make sure to look out for Cortechs!

It is Monday the 2nd of February 2015 and we are coming to the end of our little series of local heroes and faithful supporters of the Techno scene, this time with Simo Lorenz from Stuttgart´s distinguished Lehmann club. Simo loves to play extended, passionate DJ-sets, not only in his residency at the Lehmann, but also in numerous renowned national and international clubs. His digital DJ setup allows for a maximum of real time creativity and in the studio he is a prolific producer of original tracks and remixes, some of which appeared on labels such as Wall Music, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Drowne Records or Illegal Alien, just to name a few. He furthermore co-founded the booking agency Blakksheep at the end of 2014, with artists like Alex Bau, Sam Paganini, Sasha Carassi, Luis Flores, Johannes Heil, himself and many more in the roster. Simo is celebrating his 30th birthday on the 15th of February at the so-called “Dirty Thirty” event at the Lehmann. This May will see Kerri Chandler’s MadTech records offer up the ‘MadTech 02 - Ibiza’ compilation, comprising twenty-six tracks from some of the most hotly tipped acts in contemporary electronic music.

The MadTech imprint has been running since 2012 and can boast material from the likes of Citizen, South London Ordnance, Applebottom and Josh Butler across its catalogue, here its A&R prowess is once again on radiant display as the label continues it’s compilation series following the success of MadTech 01. This time round the imprint delivers a weighty collection of hard-hitting house cuts with ‘MadTech 02 - Ibiza’ ahead of the impending Ibiza season.

The compilation welcomes some driving forces in house music at present with the likes of Josh Butler, Alexis Raphael, Leftwing & Kody, Cera Alba, Max Chapman, Celsius and Jonny Cade delivering exclusive content. In typical MadTech fashion the label has caught onto some promising up and comers early to boot, namely Black Girl/White Girl, Howson’s Groove, Simba and Cristoph.

Phil Backensky is born in 1978. Live in Katowice, Poland. Started listening to techno music at the beginning of 21st century.
Visiting techno clubs in Poland, feeling the vibes made by local and international DJ's - it was the first steps into techno community.
Love Parade in Berlin, the journey to the root of techno, completely satisfied his necessity of electronic sounds.
From 2014 he began to create his own techno mixes for internet radios (Art Style Techno, Cuebase, Fnoob, Digitally Imported) and started DJ-ing on local techno gigs in Poland and Germany.
From 2014 he is host and producer of Rind Radio Techno project "Beat Storm" which was made to support and promo populard DJs and Producers and giving people good techno vibes.

Commander Tom:

Commander Tom (real name Tom Weyer) is a German DJ and music producer.

He began working as a DJ at the "Drops SuperDisco" in Kehl in the 1980s, and also worked as a DJ at the "Rheinpark" discothèque in Germersheim in the 1990s.

In 2004, his single "Attention!", sampled from the Tom Novy vs. Eniac 1997 song "Superstar", hit #1 on the German dance music charts. It peaked at #23 in the UK Singles Chart in February 2005.[1] His most recent single "I Can't Sleep!" was released in 2006.

Seit den 1980er Jahren ist Tom Weyer als DJ tätig, zunächst in der damals beliebten Diskothek „Trianon“ in Ötigheim bei Rastatt, Baden-Württemberg. Der dortmalige Besitzer Herr Kölmel Senior sagte immer „ Er wäre der Commander an Bord seiner Diskothek“, daher dann auch der Spitzname „Commander Tom“. Danach wechselte er ins „Drops SuperDisco“ in Kehl/Goldscheuer (Baden-Württemberg) und dem dazugehörigen „Radio Drops“, in den 1990er Jahren auch in der Diskothek „Rheinpark“ in Germersheim (Rheinland-Pfalz). Er war dort einer der angesagtesten DJs für Black Music, tendierte aber mit der aufkeimenden Techno-Bewegung hin zu härteren Rhythmen.

Seit der Gründung des zur Neckargemünder Undercover Music Group (UCMG) gehörigen Labels Noom Records im Juli 1993 war er als A&R-Director für die Produktion und Auswahl der Veröffentlichungen verantwortlich und traf mit der Mischung aus Hard Trance und Acid Techno den Nerv der Szene. Noom 06 (von Tom de Luxe aka Commander Tom) wurde zu einer der bestverkauften Platten ihrer Zeit und wurde gleichermaßen in Szene-Clubs wie auch in Diskotheken gespielt. Seine erste eigene Produktion (zusammen mit DJ Peter Pan) Are am Eye erschien als Noom 13 und verhalf ihm zu weltweitem Durchbruch. Seither produzierte er unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen wie Chef New Yorker, Nexus 6, Phan-Tom, Tom De Luxe und Toronto. Außerdem war er Bestandteil der Formationen Der Tanzbefehl, The Freaquez, König Deluxe und Mandala und hatte Auftritte bei Großanlässen wie Energy (1992 bis 1996), Tribal Gathering und nahezu allen Loveparades. Ab 2001 erschien eine Remix-Reihe von Are am Eye auf Pulsive mit der Commander Tom Platz 1 der nationalen Dance-Charts erreichte. Ende 2004 schaffte er dann mit „Attention“ den Sprung auf die #1 der deutschen Club Charts und wurde zudem beim englischen Label „Ministry of Sound“ unter Vertrag genommen. In den englischen Verkaufscharts erreichte er mit dem Hit auf Anhieb #23.
