Debut release of hi-res, bare bones hardware techno from Melbourne-based synthesis explorer Nina Buchanan. Parallel to creating woozy extended synth pop jams in duo Video Ezy (Paradise Daily) as well as pushing dynamic textural noise forms into unique shapes in UTI (duo with Maya Kjellstrand of Bleach Boys, Leopard Leg), Buchanan has arrived at a precision nexus of brutalist techno and a truly uplifting style of ecstatic melodic synth riffage. Conjuring thick atmospheres and tonalities with almost blu-ray levels of vibrancy is perhaps in essence attributable to the simplicity of her chosen elements; 1 synth, 1 drum machine - the rest is purely incendiary sparks, resonating brightly in the spaces in between. SATURN AND THE SUN

Joachim Nordwall and Henrik Rylander created Saturn and the Sun for their mutual passion in mindchanging sound experiments. Since 2005, they have created music together in ritual rock band The Skull Defekts, but since the death of the Skulls in April 2018 their common focus now is Saturn and the Sun. Deep, often monotonous and harsh electronic music inspired by 60s minimalism, early techno and tribal music. This is what you get when the two comes together. 

Rylander is working as a forensic photographer, makes extreme sound art and Nordwall runs the iDEAL Recordings label and records experimental music on his own and with artists like Mats Gustafsson, Mika Vainio (RIP), Ryan Martin and Leif Elggren. They both share the legendary studio space Gothenburg Sound Experiment.

This is the first  proper album by Dungeon Acid!
 Since we first released his debut 7” in 2010 the man has done a bunch of life changing 12”s and cassettes, always with the rhythm in focus, inspired by early techno and acid House from Chicago and Detroit mainly, we’d say.  
 
The here is now, and the past has been. Jean-Louis Huhta being part of most good things coming out of Sweden since the 80s; from his teen days playing in Cortex and  filthy crust punk with Anticimex and touring the UK in a van with no seats with Napalm Death, to early electronic dance music experiments with Lucky People Centre, ritual rock tribalism with The Skull Defekts, and electro-acoustic sessions with people like Zbigniew Karkowski and CM von Hausswolff. His back catalogue is sick, and great.  
 
But to now. This double vinyl LP is the top of a mountain containing tracks from 2010-2018, contemporary techno aimed at the dance floor filled with skills, personality, warmth, history and future.
