Amphiboly Records is a new techno-oriented record project based in the Motor City. From Detroit, its two founders, Andrew Barren and Sard, release a first release featuring 2 tracks each. 

Void Stares Back is an EP with 4 tracks designed exclusively for the dancefloor. Sard opens the EP with the track of the same name, a sinister halftime track with modulating noises and melting percussive sounds. On A2, “Null Runner”, Sard delivers a hypnotic dancefloor ripper with delayed pulses that reverberate through any room.

Andrew Barren begins Side B collaborating with Remittance on their track “PISCATAWAY” . Slowly evolving, it features a hellish kick and aggressive drones that builds in temperature over time. Barren closes out the EP with “Flesh”, a spacey track with strong drums as its backbone and layers of atmosphere that gives out to modulated percussion.

Silver Streams is the third ambient full-length from Emile Facey under the Plant43 moniker. Better known for his electro output, the UK producer has been writing and storing up atmospheric synthesiser experiments alongside his dancefloor oriented output since his last ambient LP ‘The Countless Stones’ released on Bandcamp in 2020. This meditative, evocative eight track journey is typical of Facey’s beautifully rendered emotional output and is a perfect match for the stunningly atmospheric artwork, also by Facey, which accompanies the album.

Based in the South of England, UK, Emile Facey is also a graphic designer and illustrator. He has been promoting underground electro and techno events since the late 90’s. As a producer he’s been releasing records since 2005 with a string of releases on respected scene favourites such as Central Processing Unit, Frustrated Funk, Semantica, Shipwrec, 20:20 Vision and Cultivated Electronics, among others. He has played live alongside DJ Stingray, ERP/Convextion, The Advent, Surgeon, Legowelt, DJ Overdose, Urban Tribe and Datassette among many others.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.

All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.
