ARTIST/RELEASE INFORMATION:

The inaugural release for the Love Dose imprint comes fittingly from our own stable of artists. On the heart side of the record is a track by Motif, a production duo based in Manchester. The duo is comprised of David Walker (Wokeye) and Peter Asiaw (Josimar).


David, is quickly becoming a very sought after producer having worked alongside Hot Since 82 and being asked to do remixes for artist such as the fast rising Bipolar Sunshine. Peter, a house DJ with a keen ear for a musical gems that has not gone unnoticed by house brands such as Wolf Music and Millionhands. 



Teaming up under the Motif moniker to provide a classic house cut in Silicon Serenade. A rolling baseline underpins a track with a sumptuous house melody and the breakdown is something to behold. This piece of wax is ready to blow up any dancefloor.



On the drop side of the record is a track from David's solo output under the name of Wokeye. The track Roll the Dice has a sublime Jazzy Techno vibe with a euphoric piano section, tied together with a Charles Bukowski monologue.



Destined for big things these two artists are already making noises having been approached to play at the Warehouse Project  and they are making serious moves on the Manchester House scene.

Charles Andre, aka Charles Fenkler is a young and talented French producer with a passion for techno and is set for his much anticipated second release with Soma. Bolstering on support roused in the underground techno scene from his well-received debut Anklam, Fenckler brings his signature fast-faced percussion in his deep and powerful techno tracks. He may be young but he continues to prove his knowledge and passion, merging influences from Europe and Detroit. Definitely one to watch as one of the Soma new breed 

Fenckler doesn’t mess about as title track Program starts off with all guns blazing. A powerful kick steadily thumps away as a mechanised lead welds this track together, straight up hi hats, rides and further stripped back percussion add to this dance floor monster.

The hypnotising Function drops next as Fenckler shows once again that less is definitely more. Looped out, ringing toms glide across another ferocious kick as the ever so slight delay across the rhythm make this a fast paced Detroit reminiscent track.

Subject Perform finishes the EP off in just the right way; by taking things up another notch! Fenckler creates great tension throughout this closing track, slowly releasing the arsenal of sounds at his disposal, again opting for a minimalistic approach to his production.

For the next release on the imprint, Secretsundaze have enlisted the talents of John Daly, the deep house purveyor from Galway and 'Everlasting' delivers on almost every note.

On remix duty is French techno connoisseur Marcelus and we have the premiere of his edit. The dark and wavy warehouse cut will fit into any late-night or early morning set as it showcases pounding kick-drums and trippy murmurs throughout.

The slick, modern vocal house of ‘I Want You’ is the first single taken from Huxley’s debut LP ‘Blurred’ on Aus/!K7 and it drops, along with remixes from Youandewan and Huxley himself, on October 6th.

‘Let it Go’, ‘Bellywedge’ and ‘Box Clever’ cemented Huxley’s singles reputation some time ago and its been furthered this year with the tonally and stylistically varied ‘The Machine’ EP released just a few months back on Aus. 

As the hype around the ‘Blurred’ LP builds, ‘I Want You’ is the perfect lead in. Although not without some trademark grunt in the bass department it’s one of Huxley’s deepest cuts to date, with layered melodies, rounded percussion and an incredible vocal combining beautifully. 

Huxley’s powerful ‘club rub’ shifts the focus to the dance floor a little more but not at the expense of the original’s musical or vocal content – with just a nip and tuck here and there he’s created a weighty, yet respectful, club version. 

Fellow Aus artist and notable talent, Youandewan, takes things deeper with his remix – a blissed out exercise in smooth musical transitions and subtle dubbing techniques that form an engagingly delicate deep house cut. 

To close the release Huxley turns in ‘Sphere’. Vintage Huxley, ‘Sphere’ is characterised by a strident rhythm track and piano licks but the devil is in the detail – re-pitched delay feedback, almost-there filtered vocals and crafty drum fills. 

Huxley’s ‘I Want You’ is released on Aus/!K7 on October 6th with the ‘Blurred’ LP following October 20th

Marcelo Guelfenbein, or just Marcelo Cura, was born in 1983 in Australia, from a Chilean father and a German mother. Because of the artistic jobs of his parents (father: painter / mother: stylist), at the age of two he started moving and living in different countries (Milan/Paris/Barcelona) . All this changes allowed him to be very open minded and internationally inspired. At the age of thirteen, he was completely into the HIP HOP culture, between doing his mixtapes, MC'ing, Graffiti, Breakdancing. Anything that could touch that culture was a passion for him. Then after a trip to Eivissa in the end of the 90's, his passion expanded to house music and percussions. Suddenly, his dj and percussion sessions (in his garage) with friends became a daily need and emergency. Two years later he started to learn how to compose electronic music with a synth and a computer, but at a certain point he decided to learn more about it. He concluded his 3 year sound engineering studies in Paris (European Bachelor) and started working on different audio visual projects. Nowadays, he composes his own tracks and plays in different bar/clubs in Paris (such as Rex Club, Showcase, Batofar, Queen, Bus Palladium, Follie's Pigalle, Barramundi…), next to the label French Kitchen (Cocobeach parties), Coton Tige or CrazyJack and well known artists such as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Heartthrob, Gaiser, Guti, Mendo, Alex Celler, Ilario Alicante, Funzion, Okain, S.M.A.L.L, Franck Lorber, Andrea Oliva, Karotte, Chris wood & Meat, but also in different countries like Germany (Cocoon Club), Spain (Sonar), England, Italy, Tunisia or Israel. Marcelo has proved his exceptional sutdio skills with releases on labels like Trapez Ltd, D-Floor, Catwash, French Kitchen, Coton Tige, Equilibrium Lab, Earlydub, Mainakustik, Spur, Greelpound, Kontrol rec, Les Diamantaires, Raw Trax and many more. Marcelo landed on Baile Musik with Guerilla project which sounds a little bit experimental with touch of classical minimal deep tech house spiced with fasntastic remixes by Alisonn and Gaspara.

Having nurtured the precious and insular little flower that is Youandewan over the course of a number of remixes and headline slots at their own label parties around the world, Hypercolour now allow Leeds based Ewan Smith to flourish into his first full release in more than a year.

Appropriately arriving on the cultured HypeLTD, the four tracks find him moping in dreamy
melodies, lazy underwater beats and soothing circular rhythms.

Opener ‘Disarray’ features the producer’s trademark knocking beats under liquid synths that
plunge down into melancholy before rising up through the horizon like a mid-winter sun. A
female coo adds more heavy heartedness in the subtlest of ways and Smith manages to coax
some sweet sadness from his TR303 before ‘Awn’ stands a bit more proud. The pads are lush,
the 707 percussion feather light and the beats splutter and stutter as another deft sample adds
an element of heavenly vocal purity.

On the flip, ‘Undrstnd’ has a bed of buried deep kicks à la Fred P, the light dusting of percussion
comes from off in the distance and eventually an untethered, oversized square bassline sprays
about and starts a chain reaction where pools of synths implode and explode in vast underwater
caves. ‘0500’ is another of Smith’s more direct cuts, frictionless kick-clap combos echo off to
infinity below you as panning, spiralling synths and lush splashes of hi hats work to suspend you right in the midst of it all. On the cusp of breaking through since forever, this EP will likely be the assured sonic statement that sees Youandewan properly enter the discerning public’s conscious at large.
