Off the back of a stunning multi-genre release on Bristol-based label Out of Sorts, mod-r continues his foray into new musical styles in 2022. With an impressive backlog of releases on Out of Sorts, childsplay, Shubzin, CAROUSE, Belek Records, Jerry Horny, Hyperdome Records, Hang Tough, Angels Gun Club and his own imprint Meld Records, mod-r has developed outstanding technical abilities allowing him to produce tracks spanning electro, breaks, jungle and percussive styles. His EP on Gimme A Break Records broadens the Aberdeen-based producer’s repertoire further by exploring the recently revived UK Garage/Breaks crossover with Obatalla.
“Lord (Rave Mix)” offers a warehouse-ready anthem brimming with expertly chopped breakbeats. The track’s euphoric vocal lines and hardcore-inspired keys offer brief respite from the EP’s otherwise murky sound palette.

I originally made this as a tool that I wanted to use and share amongst some mates. However, I've decided to stick it out. 

Sampled the amazing Mala Rodriguez on this one, it's quite a stripped back, funky inspired record.

Rusty syncopated drum samples, chest-hitting leads, woofers smashing sub-bass patterns, a constant wave between 2-step and 4x4 Kick drum Patterns, and vocal motifs from back in the day.

Guava is a producer and guitarist from the UK, now based in Berlin. With releases on 3024, Tread Records, Rhythm Section, Control Freak Recordings... he has been sharing his unique style through productions for years and now also with a guitar-based live set. Made of warm basslines, dreamy pads, sharp drums and lots of ear candy, "Stratospheric Pressure" is signature of this style and an ode to flying and planes, one of his passions.

The cave was pitch black, inside there was little sound but for the occasional drip of water which would send a ripple through the pond below. Looking down from up above, they wondered what lay in the murky depths of the quarry. What surprises might be but round the corner? What creatures? What comforts? What tricks? What treats?

That’s when there was a deep rumble from the ground below. It bellowed up through the cave like some loud drum before enveloping their eardrums with a might thud.

Then they flew forth, bats and bats and bats and bats.

Will Hofbauer steps forth for an EP on Will Saul’s longstanding record label Aus. This is a record built of playful bouncey house grooves, oddball sounds and fun. It’s destined to work a treat in the clubs with a silly sense of purpose and a tongue n’ cheek approach to the dance.

Breaka usually runs in very different circles, producing footwork, juke and DnB from his home in Leeds. These are the first tunes of his at a slower tempo to be released but you can certainly hear those influences loud and clear in these certi6ied UK 125-130bpm bangers.
