Due to be released on internationally renowned Ram Record’s sister imprint Program, it’s the follow up to a debut single which saw the rise to underground prominence. 

‘Fling Rock Stone’ kicks off the EP, setting the tone with intricate filtered breaks and the war cry of “Fling Rock Stone”. You’re hyped up into a flurry of chest caving subs and breaks chopped together with utmost precision and style.

Up next is ‘Highgrade’, beginning with pads this track is set to annihilate dancefloor’s around the world over and over. Heavy weight kick drums, clanged snares and mid range heavy stabs deliver an all-out tear rhythm, able to lead you onto any dance floor. ‘Bagleys’ sets a different tone. Taking you on a journey to the epic rave days of Bagleys nightclub with an echoed sample mixed on top of bitcrushed drum edits and murky pads, its rises into a storm of pitching down bass, and the drums are rolled in guaranteeing nothing but pure dancefloor satisfaction.

As we stumble into October, wondering where the hell 2016 went exactly, the unmistakeable chill of English weather returns to London’s air, and drops all of our moods somewhat. Fortunately, Bristol-based Imba is dropping more than temperatures, with his debut single ‘Ravana/From Within’ set to light up the dance-floor this coming winter. Having made quite the impression with his track ‘Persistence featuring Leah Costello’ – the Liquifyah crew member has delivered 2 solid tracks in this release.

‘Ravana’ captures the essence of this seasonal change, with chilling ethereal vocals, tonal percussion and menacing textures giving body the warming, rattling bassline. ’From Within’ meanwhile is more suitable of cold winters morning. Cold melodic tones usher in cooling pads, letting a warm sub bass take point under a drum break with an undeniably old school flavour.

What with drum & bass becoming ever more international, at Lifestyle we wanted to champion this fact and help shine a spotlight on the growing scenes outside of the UK. After last years landmark ‘Australian Connection LP’ we have turned our attention slightly closer to home, this time having organised the ‘Belgian Connection LP’.

Belgium is country that has been synonymous with a strong rise in dnb in recent times, and we felt this country was the perfect place to launch the next release in our ‘Connection’ series.
