Daytime television was once thought of as the nursery slopes of a TV career. Today its complex formats and production requirements are seen by many as more challenging than peak-time programming.

Inside daytime television: Ideas, reveals and hard work

Nutrition and exercise are paramount for improving health and preventing disease. Alexander Mok, MRC Epidemiology Unit, aims to demystify the research and evidence base underpinning the public health recommendations for a healthy lifestyle.

Alexander’s research focuses on the combined influence of Nutrition and Physical Activity on health, chronic disease and longevity using large population-based studies. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology and subsequently completed interdisciplinary training in Public Health at Harvard University. Prior to starting his PhD studies at the MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge; he worked in the Clinical Nutrition Research Centre within the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences and was awarded the National Science Scholarship from A*STAR, Singapore to pursue his doctoral studies.
