This set was meant to be played at the event Area51: Tricky Chaos in early August 2021. The organiser requested a low bpm so this challenged me to start as slow as 158; my slowest start ever! (Sadly the event got cancelled)

The tracklist is truly something very special as it is distinctly energetic and diverse, yet impossible to place in the common genre's of  uptempo psychedelic music. 

Expect a really unusual & groovy beginning and soon after some Tek'ish influence, afterwards really strong Dark/Experimental tracks, an exceptional melodic chapter and a touch of Hitech and finally closing with a few heavy hitting Psycore sounds.

On 30-04-22 we hosted the debut event of a collaborative new concept BOMBLASTIC. Together with Bom Voyage we had an amazing night in Club Radion. This is what I played on the BLAST STAGE from 24:00 until 01:00. 

The first half contains some of the finest contemporary Darkpsy, and afterwards I've used some all time favorite Hitech tracks from between 07' and 17'. These are some of the sounds that made me fall in love with this music back in '11. These all time classics still hold up today in comparison to a lot of new hitech being released. Set recording of my gig on 18th of March 2023 in Hoorn at SWAF. 

It contains a super wide spectrum of sounds: from rolling hitech to melodic hitech, into fast Darkpsy and towards dirty Psycore stuff and closing with the highest level of intensity I have to offer. The crowd could actually handle it! :D

On 18-05-2024 it was time for the third installment of BlasTTek. 
This edition featured Vox Fabri and Mad Scientist on the line up and this set was scheduled between those acts.

Made this set to transition between Keflat' Tekno and Neuro Twister' Hitech. Expect a wildly hybrid set offering tracks between Tekno/Techno styles and Darkpsy, Hitech, Psycore & Slambient sounds. Starting with Tekno and Darkpsy, in the middle going towards an atmospheric chapter of dark experimental tracks that will be raising some eyebrows ;P  from there into more energetic Hitech tracks ending in a hardtek climax.

This hybrid Tek/Core/Hitech Djset was meant for the birthday party of Kyborg on the 25th of May 2019 but sadly I could not make it due to a health issue in my family. For 'The Future is Blast' on 15-02-20 I prepared my darkest and slowest set ever. It's the first time that I ventured below 165bpm and I aimed to create a 'hypnotic drumcircle' kind of atmosphere. In the 2nd half expect a touch of experimental and at the end some Hitech to prepare the crowd the Popeks set after me.

A set prepared for an alternative stage at This is Madness XL 

Kontrast Soundsystem invited us to collaborate on hosting a stage in Rotterdam. It would have been our first stage outside of Amsterdam. Event got cancelled because of the pandemic, but I had this set ready to go so I recorded it! The event featured tekno and hardcore so that's where the inspiration for this hybrid set came from.

IDIOBLAST a.k.a. Mats Weel, born in 1989, had his first experience with fast psychedelic music in 2011. Instantly intrigued by how the high BPM music affected his state of mind, he started collecting music fanatically. After graduating Academy of Fine Arts in 2012 he spend numerous years experimenting with different art forms. It was not until early 2017 that he discovered his true passion behind the decks. Because of his education he has a conceptual approach to his sets and a focus on thematic track selection. He aims to deliver polished and energetic sets, and tries to find a balance between variety and coherency.
