welcome to HORIZONTALS the new ambient / balearic project from London based dj & producer LEO ZERO

It was born out of Leo’s longstanding love-affair with Ibiza's sunset / chill-out culture which he became a devotee of since first visiting Cafe Del Mar in 1989. Leo went on to co-write one of the defining tracks of the scene - Chicane’s ‘Offshore’

Now with 30 years as a music producer under his belt, and a long history scoring bespoke music for film, tv and advertising, Leo has returned to the original Balearic sound he fell in love with, whilst also tuning into modern global sunset bar scene in Bali, Tulum and beyond. Across 10 tracks we touch on classic folk and flamenco leaning Spanish flavours, to glacial ambient synth soundscapes, and bang up to date organic / minimal house tracks.

We reached out to one of our good pals up in the Great White North to supply us with a special downtempo mix! The manlike JEX OPOLIS is in the house, putting together this killer 90-minute joint, full of late 80's & early 90's downbeat house, ambient trance & post-acid house groovers. You may know the man from his Nu Disco Good Timin' and evil twin Bad Timin' labels, where he amps up the Italo & 90s Progressive vibes with massive kicks for the dancefloor, or his well-known mixes for The Lot Radio NYC. Idle Cellars is a boutique winery located in Sonoma County, California. We are Ben Larks, a teacher and explorer from Los Angeles and Ari Heavner, an entrepreneur from Berkeley. Our shared affinity for world travel and adventure led us to connect in 2006 while working crush in Sonoma. Idle Cellars was born with our first batch of Cabernet Sauvignon reflecting, as in most harmonious relationships, a balanced yin and yang between city dwelling Heavner and country living Larks. We strive to produce an elegantly balanced wine through our grace of art. Our belief is that the essence of winemaking is getting dirty in the vineyard, ensuring the best of Sonoma. We make it from the vine to the bottle through hands-on craftsmanship. Our knowledge and deep understanding of our agricultural surroundings allows us to choose what we believe are the best processes for each varietal of wine. Working together for 17 years now, Ben and Ari’s winemaking bond is stronger than ever, escalating the Idle movement one glass at a time. 
Music is such an important part of our lives and our wine making experience, we decided to start a mix series which is a musical representation of an #idlemoment.
