État Limite is a Paris based project helmed by Thomas Pietrois-Chabassier, a writer, journalist and former DJ, and music producer Baptiste Bertrand. In December last year their first release 'Ce Qui La Nuit' featuring divine&acajou made waves and now another series of remixes brings fresh perspective to album material. La Mverte aka Paris bred producer Alexander Berly cut his teeth playing bass in post-punk bands, but as a solo artist mixes up Italo, New Wave, industrial sounds and his SH-101 into razor sharp and arresting productions on labels like Her Majesty's Ship. His remix of 'Le Chat' pairs icy melodic hooks with rugged beats and deadpan vocals. It makes for a haunting tune built on solid bass and jerking rhythms. Yan Wagner is a French electro, dance and pop legend who has produced and arranged for many others while also serving up sophisticated albums of his own. Here he assumes his DJ and remixer alias The Populists to rework 'Ce Qui La Nuit'. The vocal mix is a cosmic chugger with twinkling arps and the airy vocals bringing a detached sense of cool. The instrumental comes with more soft female vocal coos and the same tooting chords and stark drum hits. Creatures of the Night label boss, Correspondant associate and dark disco outfit Zombies in Miami then step up. Their fantastic remix of 'Déclic' is a forward facing, driving track built on sleek grooves with astral melodies and an expansive feel that really elevates your spirit. Tagliabue is a music selector and producer based in Milan who leads the way in the city's alternative scene. He takes inspiration from the environment that surrounds him and breaks down the boundaries between the genres on labels such as Blue Sea and Cosmica Music. His take on 'L'Amour N'Existera Plus' is a perfect dub excursion with bottomless drums, a warm and cavernous atmosphere and deft pads that bring subtle cosmic feelings. These are all well crafted tracks that are sure to bring plenty of class to the dancefloor.

Dombrance’s ‘Double Trouble’ EP receives remix treatment from cream of the clubbing crop, including good friend Freudenthal.

Riding on the wind of an extremely successful run, which saw the talented producer release his debut full-length album and perform relentlessly across the globe – Dombrance is back with new music that is bound to send shockwaves across the scene.

Last year saw some memorable live highlights including performing twice at the iconic Rabbit Hole Stage at Glastonbury Festival, a sell out Mayan Warrior in Downtown Los Angeles, playing before Underworld at Tropico Festival in Mexico and a truly memorable show at FORMAT Festival in Bentonville Arkansas, where he worked closely with D&B Soundscape – presenting his mesmerizing show in fully immersive sound.

On March 1st, Dombrance will release ‘Double Trouble’ on the international label Discolypso – closing the book for now, on a long-running theme of pairing French politicians to his music.

Dombrance explains: “For 5 years I’ve been using the names of politicians to create pieces of music. This formula has enabled me to create characters and give a fun visual identity to each song. I have been very lucky to work with the talented Olivier Laude in developing these graphics for my artwork and the animated visuals I use on stage.

It has been an honour to work alongside INA (The French National Audiovisual Institute) – who allowed me to dig deep into the French archives and create video pieces to go with my last album ‘Republique Electronique’. The pairing of retro footage from Paris in the 1960s – remixed alongside my music has worked really well at my shows!

For months now, I have been working on new productions, but I wanted to end this politician cycle in style with two songs….. the final bouquet. On the menu: ‘Copé’, who disappeared suddenly from circulation after publicly mistaking the price of a ‘pain au chocolat’!! ‘Bayrou’, another politician – who thought he finally came to power with Macron, but had to leave the government barely after entering it, because he was indicted for embezzlement of public funds!

To accompany them, a completely crazy video, a first dive into live animation from the genius graphic designer Olivier Laude, animated by his friend Ulysse Lefort. They worked hours of labor, homemade with a burst of colours, humour, and a lot of love. A mix of French comics, American cinema, and Japanese manga.“

Dombrane continues: “In this new EP titled Double Trouble, there is also a string of remixes from legendary producers and the cream of current clubbing DJs:

François K, whom I have had the chance to hang out with occasionally during the last two years. A great DJ, great remixer and producer who collaborated with Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and more. His remix of “Copé” is a psychedelic wonder that navigates in different directions and genres and makes you lose your mind.

Lindstrøm – A great influence to me, he comes with a remix of ‘Bayrou’, imagine a cocktail / pool party mode filmed by David Lynch.

Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi – The song ‘Bayrou’ being a tribute to Italo-disco, what better than to ask a legend of the genre to make a remix.

Rigopolar – The best DJ set I’ve seen in the last two years. A master magician of minimal disco.

Freudenthal – A long-time friend, former member of the group ‘Pardon Moi’. He cooked up two remixes of ‘Copé’ stuffed with cortisone that overshoot to infinity!

DiskJokke – Another one of those talented Norwegian Space Disco producers – his remix I can imagine being played in a serious old school rave

Josh Ludlow – Josh remixed my track Taubira a few years ago to great effect, his version of Cope has a cool 80’s drum machine kinda feel – a great addition to the team!

A French New Yorker, an Italian, a Mexican, an Englishman, a German and two Norwegians: all the magic of universality in electronic music.“

UK-based DJ and producer Remi Wanless will join the increasing and promising British label Midnight People with his debut EP, "A New Wave". After refining his unique take on vibrant house and electro, Remi Wanless presents three tracks of bold dance floor material. Inspired by the beaming Italo Disco spirit and infused with the crepuscular dark disco sonority, the club-focused release serves up punchy breaks and driving synths, layered on powerful low-end foundations. It’s a polished EP for a debut production outing and a sign of things to come from the rising producer and Lakota resident. Our beloved Berlin-based couple and duo Local Suicide (SXDNS172) take on "Italian Laser Treatment" with a vocal remix.

The original – differently from the remix aforementioned – conveys an optimistic and buoyant wordless message, something we are definitely in need these days. If the current status quo demands we take daily doses of hope and cheerfulness so that we can muddle through it, this is the one we take today. For the fellow dinosaurs out there, the vintage video-game atmosphere established by the laser-like synth layer will take you back to the arcades-time, when things were easier. If you are not old enough to have lived those days, then focus on the spectacular throbbing bassline: It will trigger nothing but joy on your desperate-to-dance young body. Inspired by her surroundings, eternal groove is the underlying sonic glue in Idoru's music, whether rooted in the underground industrial scene of her hometown Detroit, or pulled from the infinite palette of cities experienced from all over the world. Her cyber-futuristic aesthetics are deeply woven into the fabric of Idoru's ethos, and are a nod to favorite sci-fi novelist, William Gibson. 
The cyborgification of humanity also bleeds its influence into Idoru's sonic fingerprint, and an anti-idol philosophy that recoils from human brain-drain and self-adoration. Hence, fearless bass lines and mechanistic sounds often infuse her music, combined with ethereal soundscapes that arrest the mind in unknowable dimensions. Signified by a driving pulse that extracts from euphoria to the depths of the bubbling subconscious void, the ever-present darkness of Idoru's music hangs in the balance, with illuminating sounds colored by playful liminality.
