As Detroit/Berlin label Visionquest ekes towards its 50th release, Londoner Sonny Fodera follows up releases on Suara, Defected, Dirtybird and Cajual by teaming up with Chicago house specialist Gene Farris on the undeniably groovy "We Work It." The release is a little more on the upfront side for a VQ release and it's a drugged out anthem for everyone who likes to get that little bit extra frisky on the dancefloor.

With a 1990’s Chicago influence, Weiss demonstrates his ability to inject his passion for real house music with his latest offering. An uplifting, feel good record, ‘You’re Sunshine' incorporates a stunning vocal and lush Piano chords. Representative of his signature sound, he's created another record which is ready for the intimate dance floor space of his ‘Weiss City’ residency at EGG LDN this year.

In 2013, Weiss’ career was launched spectacularly, being championed by the likes of Groove Armada, Green Velvet, Loco Dice and many more. Weiss’ debut single ‘My Sister’ was rotated on BBC Radio 1 and strongly stayed in the Beatport top ten chart for over four months.

Due to Weiss’ distinctive sound and style, he’s been high in demand for remix duties for acts including MK, Rudimental, Gorgon City, Green Velvet and many more. His touring schedule has seen him perform on some of the world’s most famous stages, including at Fabric London, BPM Festival Mexico, Exchange LA and Vista Club Ibiza.

Most recently he has seen success on labels such as Play It Down, Relief and Toolroom, with every release racing up the Beatport charts and gaining worldwide support. At the beginning of 2016 Weiss launched his own night 'Weiss City' which is going from strength to strength; it now has a residency at the Egg with the 3rd event on the 1st October, with Weiss, S-Man & Mat.Joe with future plans to take the U.S by storm in 2017.

A firm favourite with the Hot Creation camp, Jey Kurmis returns to the label with his Jessycat EP. Following acclaimed releases Lil’ Nic French, Kari and Not Too Flabbeh on the imprint, we once again see the talented producer at the top of his game.
 
The EP stays true to Jey’s trademark sound as the producer delivers three tracks to take the dancefloor through to the small hours. The EP opens with Jessycat, a bubbling tribal affair that implores you to move. An array of vocals bleeds into the record taking you on a journey to outer space. Fien features co-producers Nukov & Yelmet and takes a darker turn with a rumbling bass and intense vocals that state “my head spinning like a merry go”. The outer space sounds continue into closing track Vanstone, unfolding with a swinging bass and distorted stabs.
 
Part of the industry from more than a decade, Jey Kurmis has previously released on labels such as; Moon Harbour, Leftroom and Kaluki. Taking his DJ skills to new levels he has played the world’s hottest parties- from Sonar to BPM, and The Warehouse Project to DC10. The Leed’s based music maker has also commanded residencies at Do Not Sleep and Paradise.

Two of dance music’s hottest producers coalesce on the latest Hot Creations release. Frank Storm and Matteo Spedicati bring us Gimme Tha Honey, a throbbing three-track EP that gifts us with a rework from Robsoul label boss Phil Weeks.

Frank Storm reveals "this is our first collaboration which was born a year ago in our studio in Barcelona. We share the same passion for our own definition of the ghetto sound, blending fresh and techy vibes.” With this inspiration they weave an almost menacing vocal into the pulsating bassline of lead track Gimme Tha Honey. The Phil Weeks remix brings a slither of light with a shower of synths and warm, bubbling bass. The EP closes with The Long Wait shaking the record into heavier terrain, as the industrial keys are underpinned by a flurry of tough drums.

Frank Storm has been a key player on the White Isle having played at some of the Island’s biggest clubs; Space, Sankey’s, Pacha, Ministry of Sound and Zoo Project, as well holding down a residency at the night Unusual Suspects. Matteo Spedicati began releasing music in 2006 and has received support from Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. Since then he’s gone on to work with such high profile names as Joseph Capriati and Mendo, as well as releasing records on an abundance of top labels.

After getting Defected’s attention with his 'Disco Connection' release in 2016, Italian DJ Qubiko blossoms with this production debut for Defected Records. ‘These Days EP’ is a three-track release featuring some quintessential Defected moments. The title track, a collaboration with young fellow Italian K-909, has echoes of Kings Of Tomorrow’s style, with velvety female vocals over a club-focused 4/4. Likewise, ‘Set Me Free’ features gorgeous vocals and tight hi-hat accents giving it that classic house association, while ‘Raw Luv’ goes deeper with a steady disco build and a pacey feel-good vibe. It’s a timeless piece of work from the Defected newcomer.

Making his debut on the label, Spanish producer Kuo Climax is welcomed to the Hot Creations fold. A solid two track release that has already been heating up dancefloors across the globe, the talented artist showcases his distinct style and proves why he is hotly tipped for 2018.

The EP opens up with Whyte, a pulsating track with a warped bassline and oozing synths. Two and a half minutes deep it disperses into a breakbeat-esque breakdown that dives back into the familiar 4/4 beat. Title track Nacrem is a smooth roller with an underpinning bass and intergalactic vocal stabs. The EP highlights the Spanish producer’s ability to bring balance to his output, providing music perfectly attuned for the floor.

Born in Malaga and now residing in Barcelona, Kuo Climax has released on respected labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, Solid Grooves and VIVa MUSiC. 2018 will see the producer launch his own vinyl-only imprint, LFOFL, that aims to recognise the progress in technology without losing the essence of true dance music.

Hotly tipped UK duo Calum Percival and Jerome Withers join Hottrax with a sleek house release entitled ‘Kp It Tgthr’. 

Receiving early support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Detlef, Nathan Borato and Michael Bibi, the fast- rising pair started turning heads with their expertly crafted dancefloor edits of classics, such as their viral take on Madison Avenue’s ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’. Having sensed their potential Jamie Jones has now invited them to release on Hottrax, following a milestone year dropping music from East End Dubs, Cuartero, Monki, and Max Chapman. 

‘Kp It Tgthr’ opens with tight hi-hats, clean basslines, flirtatious brass stabs and pulsing chords until ‘Sip n Dip’ drives forward with rhythmic claps, distant vocals and swinging percussion. ‘Nerve’ closes with soft pads, bumping sub patterns and saturated voice clips providing a noir sound floor feel.

Darius's latest project is his label Moxy Muzik which launched its first release back in December 2018, the labels first release from Darius with his 'Dance of The Shaman' original rapidly landed in that coveted No.1 spot, and the labels output has been heavily supported by Laurent Garnier, Derrick May and Kerri Chandler. Now after turning just 1 year, the boss is back with his 2-part Ying Yang EP to kick
off 2020. Part 1 is Darius's 'Soul Fire' original mix accompanied by a killer remix from young Italian producer Dimmish, which is set to be released digitally on the 28th February.

Opening with 'Soul Fire' with its skippy percussion and energetic bassline, it nods back to the 90s US House inspired by artists like Junior Vazquez and Chez Damier. 'This was a sound which first got me into all this music' says Darius. Dimmish takes the original motifs and injects his trademark Italian flair for a more upbeat peak-time groover.
