o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"The past two years have been about change for me.  After living in Texas for many years I moved to San Francisco.  While driving out west I was reflecting on the move I made twelve years ago. I was going the opposite direction- from Los Angeles to Austin.  I remember the feeling of excitement and nervousness as I was shifting my life in such a big way. Also as a queer person it felt counter-intuitive to move from what was supposedly a liberal place (California) to a more conservative one (Texas). When I passed the border into Texas it was dusk, but it felt like the sun took hours to actually set.  A distinct memory was listening to Oneohtrix Point Never's "Returnal '' and the album enhanced the slow motion feeling of being in a foreign landscape of rolling hills and heaving clouds.  It's a feeling that stuck with me and with this mix I am exploring what it felt like to make the drive in reverse, heading back to California for different opportunities.  This is mix is very much about the experience of anticipation I projected onto the landscape."

Mouthfeel is a DJ, film maker, and HIV activist living in San Francisco.  With his partner, he puts together the party and publication Service. Before his recent move to California he was a defining voice in Austin, Texas's underground queer nightlife scene.  He is a co-founder of the Contrast Film Festival which celebrates film, multimedia art, and performance from women and queer artists.  He also helped produce Double Scorpio's series of raves and created Y'All Or Nothing, a one day festival of queer counter-programing mounted for ten years during South by Southwest. In 2022 he premiered his first feature film, Erica's First Holy Shit.

In more normal times, we'd be celebrating our 8th "birthday/anniversary" as Occupy The Disco with all of you in person, but since we can't, we wanted to share one of our recent Paradisco sets with all of you and announce a new effort to support our friends at Le Bain.

Le Bain makes it possible for us to gather our friends and chosen family, week after week, to celebrate life, music and each other. 

What makes Le Bain so great is their staff. From the door, to the coat check, elevator, bar, bathroom, management, lights and sound, the staff are the lifeblood that ensure our days and nights there are always enjoyable. 

With the current health conditions, the club remains closed and all of the amazing staff are out of work. We are turning to you – our community, our family, our friends – to donate and help offset the loss of income for the staff of Le Bain. Many of them have families they need to support. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to them.  

Please consider making a donation if you are feeling generous (any amount is okay - link available on this page), to help out until we can all dance together again. In honor of our 8th birthday as Occupy The Disco,  we've donated $2500 to help kick things off and we're hoping that you, collectively can help match that.
