Remix for the Kings Kaleidoscope remix contest. More of a re-write, I suppose.

A note on the ending: There are times when I can proclaim "You are the God who knows and loves me!" to God, but there are other times when I find myself speaking those words to myself, trying to reassure myself of my own belief in them. The ending is meant to convey the emotion of the latter.

A Requiem is a song written for death and mourning. This requiem is a song written in lou of the death of a friend's father. With death comes grief, something more complicated than I can explain with words or music alone. Grief doesn't end quickly. You can try move on, but every once and a while, it suddenly all comes back, bringing with it memories that are, and that could have been. I'm not good with words, so I wrote a piece for solo piano, something that might give a small glimpse of the unexpected nature of death, the sorrow that comes from death, and loneliness that death leaves you with.
