His first record purchase was Ranking Dread’s Fattie Boom Boom in 1981, which marked the beginning of his lifelong commitment to reggae. Over the years, Zigedub’s involvement in sound system culture grew, shaping his understanding of reggae as a music of empowerment and cultural expression.

Having lived and travelled in multiple countries, Zigedub has absorbed diverse cultural influences, earning him the nickname "Man from Foreign." Despite his global travels, he continues to maintain strong ties to the UK, where he frequently broadcasts and produces music.
