Dance music kingpins Watch The Ride consisting of DJ Randall, DJ Die and Dismantle supply a crisp cut bouncer of an instrumental straight out the gate for Bristol based mic controller Emz to shell down. Legendary doesn’t quite cut it - this one will be rolling through raves left, right and centre.

Lens’ debut release ‘Love The Way’ is an exciting jungle fused collaboration with rising producer Lally whose already dropped impressive releases with the likes of Hospital, Soulvent and Archway. Expect soul-infused samples, raw breakbeats and a shredding bassline.

DEEP-Z DJ MIX - I LOVE YOU [2019-06-30]

Naturally, you are simply not allowed to study at Berklee without falling in love with Jazz. 

This is a rough mix of the Jazz standard "Skylark", translated into Tamil, arranged as a bolero. Each phrase was broken down and then translated as closely as possible with regards to both meaning and syllables. For those who know Tamil, it may be fragmented, but the imagery is what I focused on. Compare it to the English lyrics, it's fun!

Right before my first recording session, my wonderful colleague Sebastian Laverde made an arrangement suggestion that turned out to be this wonderful project. In fact, this track has been arranged, produced and mixed by him.

The only mention I would make to our Tamil-speaking audience is that the title phrase 'Skylark' was translated into 'Kili'-- or parrot-- because it makes more cultural sense. We have Indian stories, myths and songs where the lovelorn princess seeks out the parrot to help her communicate with her distant lover; it seemed like the best option. That, and vānam pādi and ākāsha patchi were three syllables too many. This is the first of several Jazz standards that have been translated into Tamil and are in the process of being recorded and produced. Upcoming: Nature Boy and Summertime.
